Community Lifestyles was created in the 1990s to offer individualised support to the growing number of people with more complex needs who were leaving long-stay institutions. Working in a consortium arrangement with Key in Glasgow, Community Lifestyles now works alongside disabled people, a number of whom have complex communication and health needs, supporting them to live good lives in their own homes and communities across the city.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly experienced social care trainer, who can join our well-established management and development team in Glasgow, facilitating induction and ongoing learning activities to support staff. You will work with teams around people’s specific needs, including positive behaviour support, having previously supported teams to review and adapt their practice to assist individuals to achieve their outcomes.

As a member of the wider team, you will work collaboratively to deliver and further develop our learning and development framework and SSSC qualification strategy, taking the lead on particular practice areas for both organisations.

You will possess a SSSC recognised professional qualification (Social Work, Nursing, SVQ3 or equivalent).and ideally have undertaken a recognised trainer course. A recognised Positive Behaviour Support or similar qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.

As part of our well-established staff development team, you will:

• deliver core induction and ongoing training to ensure staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver the highest quality, person centred support

• provide human rights-based Positive Behaviour Support training and guidance to managers and teams working alongside individuals with complex support needs to achieve their unique outcomes

• be the lead for a particular practice development aspect
