The role

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Renewables team as a Programme Assistant.

The focus on this role will be supporting the administration of the Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), which is delivered by Local Energy Scotland (a consortium of Scottish based charities led by the Energy Saving Trust). This is a highly regarded Scottish Government programme that supports local communities to develop, invest in and benefit from renewable energy projects. You will also provide support to the wider EST renewables team in Scotland through, supporting the administration of our web tools and helping with team administration. This will be varied and interesting development opportunity with the Renewables team and you will be encouraged to grow your role and responsibilities over time

What you’ll do

• Assist with the administration of the CARES database of projects and processing of projects grant and loan claims for payment.
• Drafting of grant and loan offer documentation
• Organise meetings and provide administration support to wider renewables team including with specific web tools.

The Caley X Coalfield Regeneration Trust (CRT) Partnership was established to help people of all backgrounds and abilities gain new gardening skills that work in harmony with nature through completion of The Caley’s Grow and Learn in Nature (GLiN) Award. We are now looking for a new member to join our small team.

You will support and extend the delivery of the GLiN Award to 6 projects within East Ayrshire and the Central Belt. This role will involve development of a wide range of educational resources as well as administration and marketing duties.

As the Assistant Legal Officer, your role is to assist our in-house Solicitor in providing free legal advice to promote and further environmental rights in Scotland. As part of the in-house legal team, you will undertake legal research to apply to casework, assist with the administration of the advice service and ensure professional legal standards are upheld.

Smarter Choices, Smarter Places is used by all Scotland’s local authorities and funds many other third and public sector organisations to deliver locally specific initiatives that meet local needs.

The Development officer, Smarter Choices, Smarter Places Open Fund has a key role supporting the Senior Development officer and wider SCSP team ensuring that the Programme continues to deliver on its aims and objectives while also expanding its reach to new audiences. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team supporting and encouraging projects and applications which will encourage and support behaviour change towards more sustainable forms of transport. Grant management and application assessment will form some of the key day to day tasks associated with this role and its therefore important that applicants have a passion for encouraging behaviour change, for building working relationships and for supporting and highlighting good practice. This is an exciting and challenging time, and the successful candidate will help to ensure Paths for All’s increasing levels of investment in active and sustainable travel make a contribution to Scotland’s climate change and public health priorities whilst also supporting communities and organisations across Scotland to build back after the COVID pandemic.
