As Communications Officer for Samaritans Scotland, you’ll utilise your communications and marketing expertise to ensure smooth delivery of internal and external communications in Scotland and support Samaritans’ public-facing activity. Working across new and existing campaigns, reacting to the day-to-day news and supporting the development and delivery of a variety of projects, you’ll be a key driver of our marketing and brand in Scotland, ensuring our communications are clear, engaging and reflect our key influencing messages across external channels.
Working with volunteers and a wide range of stakeholders you’ll be a people person, able to support engagement and adapt content for different audiences and influence coverage to help people better access and understand our work.

The Social Inclusion Project (SIP) supports people who use alcohol and drugs and have backgrounds of offending or other particularly challenging behaviour, to access existing services, referred by partner organisations. The Social Inclusion Project (SIP) model complements the work of existing agencies/services by supporting people to interact with services when their complex needs (such as substance use, homelessness, mental health illness, learning disability, welfare benefits issues, social isolation and / or family dysfunction) present barriers for their access to care. The collaborative approach between the Social Inclusion Project (SIP) and existing services is proven to deliver an effective means by which people can access services which they might otherwise struggle to interact with.
The post holder will work directly with the service user to enable their access to an integrated pathway across universal services including the ‘Third Sector’ and wider Health & Social Care services.
The post-holder will work in partnership with colleagues from local Councils, Social Work, Housing and Conflict Resolution Services, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, NHS Forth Valley and Substance Misuse Services.
The post-holder will be primarily required to work from their specified location and will work flexibly within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of provision.

The Head of Quality and Improvement is responsible for helping us identify and disseminate best practice through internal training. The postholder will work collaboratively to explore and develop models of best practice to empower our staff to embed this into their ways of working. They will play a leading role in the design, development and implementation of a case management approach across services.
The postholder is responsible for creating audit tools and approaches to review various policies and processes and ensure that these comply with internal, legal and regulatory standards. They will be instrumental in building a culture of high knowledge, skill, transparency and improvement.
The Head of Quality and Improvement will support our services to better report on their impact. They will work closely with Managers to understand the quality assurance and monitoring needs for services, and will work with other teams to ensure that the work of services is accurately shared. The postholder will uniquely sit in both the operations and the services teams to allow for smooth implementation.

Brain Health Scotland is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Education Programme Coordinator (maternity cover).
Established in 2020, Brain Health Scotland has been created by Alzheimer Scotland and the Scottish Government to improve brain health across the life course and reduce the incidence of dementia.
We have recently launched an innovative national educational programme to raise awareness and increase understanding of brain health amongst primary school aged young people. The post holder will further develop and expand this evidence-based programme in partnership with education and health experts, local authorities, schools and colleges across Scotland.
The postholder will bring enthusiasm, creativity and a positive attitude to this role, which will involve independent working and travel across Scotland.
Embedded in the Brain Health Scotland team, the post holder will be responsible for developing and coordinating a programme that promotes knowledge of important factors for maintaining brain health from childhood onwards – specifically physical activity, social connectivity, optimal nutrition and reduction in risks like smoking, head injury and alcohol use.
