The School Communities team delivers a range of programmes that inspire children and young people to engage with reading and writing.

The role leads on the development and delivery of the outreach work carried out in schools which supports the impact and effectiveness of our School Communities programmes. The post works closely with the School Communities team to ensure co-ordinated delivery and optimum impact for our school community audiences.

The School Communities Regional Outreach Coordinator works closely with the School Communities Manager on the administration, development, and delivery of the School Communities Outreach programme in the Highland local authority.

The role involves working closely with individual schools or key stakeholders in Highland Council to identify ways that they can engage with, and benefit from, our School Communities programmes. They will also deliver professional learning opportunities to a range of audiences, in-person and online via Zoom or Teams, to support the School Communities programmes.

The School Communities team delivers a range of programmes that inspire children and young people to engage with reading and writing.

The post holder will also work alongside the School Communities Team and Scottish Book Trust colleagues to ensure co-ordinated delivery and optimum impact for our school community audiences.

TRACS invites applications for the permanent post of Finance and Administration Officer. £28,000 per annum, pro rata, with a contributory pension scheme. The postholder will be a member of the Staff Development Team, reporting to the Director/CEO.

TRACS is a support and development organisation for traditional arts and culture in Scotland. It facilitates the work of the Scottish Storytelling Forum, the Traditional Music Forum, and the Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland, based at the Scottish Storytelling Centre.

In addition TRACS leads, in consultation with the Forums, on shared advocacy, policy development, strategic relationships, programme initiatives and promotion, involving different aspects of Scotland’s traditional arts, culture and languages.

TRACS operates in a uniquely collaborative way appropriate to the diverse networks, that underpin Scotland’s arts of tradition locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The Finance and Administration Officer will assist the Director/CEO by supporting their role in delivering organisation’s mission and key objectives as laid out in the Development Plan. TRACS operates hybrid working with a balance of home and office options, taking account of job requirements and personal circumstances.

FFI is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to fulfil a key role within FFI’s team in Scotland. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in Scotland, and across FFI, to support a range of Community-based Organisations (CBOs) in Scotland who are engaging in the protection, management and/or restoration of their local environment.

The Community Support Specialist, Scotland, will provide technical leadership for FFI’s work supporting and enabling community-led biodiversity protection and restoration in Scotland. They will deliver primary engagement, relationship building and support to communities, identifying appropriate mechanisms for support to help them to develop and realise tangible impacts for biodiversity and nature-positive natural resource management. The post holder will be the primary driver of community support, applying varied and carefully judged forms of engagement (technical input, advice, training, organisational development and mentoring) in line with the needs and aspirations of particular Scottish CBOs, and will provide a bridge to wider FFI organisational experience as needed.

The post holder will represent FFI’s position and ethos around community-led conservation and restoration in Scotland with a range of stakeholders and will work closely with the Senior Conservation Director, and the Project Manager, Scotland, to represent FFI more widely in Scotland, as required.

You will have excellent diplomatic and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and mediate. You will have excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, active listening skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of people and organisations, such as governments, NGOs, community groups and businesses. You will have good knowledge and understanding of the Scottish political landscape, at national and local level, and good knowledge of Scotland’s natural heritage and current biodiversity conservation issues. You will have proven experience of supporting the development of local grassroots organisations/CBOs and demonstrable abilities in mentoring and supporting individuals and organisations.
