Dean and Cauvin Young People’s Trust is one of Edinburgh’s oldest and established charities, providing residential group living and community, family and group work support to children, young people and families. This is an opportunity to come and join our team as a residential worker, primarily based at Cauvin House for mums and babies. Cauvin House is a small, residential space that can support three young women aged 16 to 21 years and their babies at any one time, providing a safe and nurturing house to help support young people grow and develop as individuals and as a parent.
Our team work closely with mums and their babies to provide the advice and guidance they may need to build their attachment and bond with their child, to support their own individual health, wellbeing and independent living skills and ensuring that their babies own growth and developmental needs are being met. We work together with social work, health and other key professionals to ensure the strengths and voice of the young person are at the heart of all we do while the safety and welfare of the child is always maintained.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to be part of our team. We are looking for skilled individuals who are passionate about working with young people and their babies and to building strong and loving relationships with them. Someone who understands child development and trauma-informed practice. Someone who is positive and thoughtful, and rights-focused.
The residential role involves a shift pattern over a four-week rota, that requires weekend working, lone working and sleep-ins. As part of the Dean and Cauvin team, you will also cover shifts at our Portland Street house when required.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The minimum educational requirements for this post is SCQF Level 7.
