About the role
As the Engagement Coordinator you will report to the Engagement Manager within the Engagement team. Working closely with the Engagement Manager, you will be planning and delivering the support programmes for individual Places for Everyone projects, ensuring the equitable distribution of resources.
You will lead a small team across Scotland and directly line manage up to 5 Officers. Liaising closely with the Grant Advisors, you will be maximising the impact and supporting the aims of the Places for Everyone programme on matters relating to engagement, equality and behaviour change.
You will upskill the wider Grant team and partner organisations by developing their understanding of engagement, equality and behaviour change.
As part of the Grant assessment process, you will assess the quality of engagement and behaviour change plans and Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs).
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
We offer true hybrid working, a mix of home working and time within our new Hubs in Edinburgh/Glasgow with flexible working patterns to suit individual circumstances. On occasion, there may be travel, and possible overnight stays required.
You should have experience of leading, motivating and managing a team. With the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds and be comfortable working with and communicating at all levels.
Understanding the issues faced by communities experiencing inequalities, you should have experience of developing community engagement strategies and presenting workshops in a community setting.
You will have experience in facilitating workshops and activities by using effective and innovative methods.
You will demonstrate an understanding of how to use behaviour change tools and to deliver projects that lead to behaviour change.
You will own strong verbal and written communication skills and an understanding of how to report effectively.
