Bridges Project is a leading youth work charity that helps young people aged 12-25 in East Lothian and Midlothian overcome challenges and adapt to adulthood. For nearly 40 years, we have helped young people develop their life skills, improve their educational attainment and move into employment or further education.

We have a vacancy for an Employability Support Worker (Schools) to deliver a yearlong employability skills programme to young people in S4 at school in East Lothian identified as leaving in to a negative destination. The post holder will deliver tailored support packages to young people enabling them to create and realise their career pathways and progress in to post school opportunities. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with all 6 high schools in East Lothian to develop the service.

It is essential that candidates have a full, clean driving licence and constant use of a car. Membership of the PVG scheme will be an essential requirement of the post. The post is funded by East Lothian Council One Council Partnership Fund. A contributory company pension scheme is offered with a 10% employer contribution.

1 x Full Time Youth Development Worker (Youth Work)

£25,052, 35 hours per week fixed term for 1 year, evening work will be required

This post will lead on the development and delivery of our Youth and Children's Work Programme aimed at 5–18-year-olds from within the local area. This includes universal youth clubs, outdoor play service, Open All Hours provision at the Commonwealth Pool, and school holiday provision. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced person who can lead a team of Youth Workers to deliver an engaging, relevant, and high-quality programme in partnership with children and young people.

1 x Youth Development Worker (Employability)

£25,052 pro rata, 28 hours per week fixed term for 1 year

This post will lead on the delivery of the NOLB Activity Agreement Programme. Canongate Youth is the city centre hub for this programne and takes referrals from across the city. The postholder will work directly with young people to agree a bespoke package of activity to encourage and support them in taking their next step towards a positive destination. We are looking for someone with experience in employability support and training and a person-centred approach to supporting young people aged 16-24 years.

We have a vacancy for an Employability Support Worker 16+ to deliver an effective employability casework and group work service to young people who are unemployed or who have left school without a positive destination.

The post holder will support young people to gain employability skills, life skills and accreditation; helping them in to work, further education or vocational training. The successful candidate will take the lead on the service and provide an effective interface between young people, partners and stakeholders involved in the service.

It is essential that candidates have a full, clean driving licence and constant use of a car. Membership of the PVG scheme will be an essential requirement of the post. The post is funded by Miss Agnes Hunter Trust and Chance to Succeed. A contributory company pension scheme is offered with a 10% employer contribution.

We have a vacancy for an Employability Support Worker 16 + to deliver an effective employability casework and group work service to young East Lothian residents aged 16-24 furthest away from the labour market and who face a particularly challenging combination of barriers to finding and making progress in work.

The post holder will support young people to gain employability skills, life skills and accreditation; helping them in to work, apprenticeships, further education or vocational training. The successful candidate will provide vocational/industry specific accreditation and training to groups of young people alongside individual support to address particular barriers. They will create, design and develop a programme of delivery which will provide young people with clear pathways to positive destinations and sustainable and fair work.

It is essential that candidates have a full, clean driving licence and constant use of a car. Membership of the PVG scheme will be an essential requirement of the post. The post is funded by East Lothian Council’s No One Left Behind Employability Grant Programme. A contributory company pension scheme is offered with a 10% employer contribution.
