Main Purpose:
To provide immediate holistic person centered advice, information and representation to vulnerable individuals/families with young children (pre-birth to 3) & support to colleagues working with vulnerable families and where necessary, refer and support clients to access appropriate advice agencies
The advice and representation offered will focus on the consequences of the Welfare reform Act and the economic downturn – seeking to resolve the practical barriers and stressors that inhibit attachment, primarily (but not exclusively) Money, Benefits, Debt, and Housing
This new innovative service has three specific outcomes/ objectives:
· To build the resilience of families
· To support and empower parents to deal with problems before they escalate into a crisis
· To empower parents to address underlying problems that can cause (or may already be causing) mental health issues.
To represent clients at Social Security Appeal Tribunals and Disability Appeal tribunals focusing on those which are a consequence of Welfare reform and the economic downturn.
Delivering a series of training sessions/information sessions to front line family workers & parents primarily, (but not exclusively) on Money, Benefits, Debt, Financial capacity, Employment rights and Housing Project Delivery
The Rural Parents Advice Project worker covers Stirling District and access to advice on the frontline is essential and the worker would construct their availability and geographic location to maximise opportunity for vulnerable families to engage with the minimum of obstacles.
Appointment to this post is conditional on two satisfactory references and a current PVG certificate.

The advice and representation offered will focus on the consequences of the Welfare reform Act and the economic downturn – seeking to resolve the practical barriers and stressors that inhibit Alcohol or Substance misuse recovery – primarily (but not exclusively) Money, Benefits, Debt, and Housing
To represent clients at Social Security Appeal Tribunals and Disability Appeal tribunals focusing on those which are a consequence of Welfare reform and the economic downturn.
Delivering a series of training sessions to front line ADP workers primarily, (but not exclusively) on Money, Benefits, Debt, Financial capacity, Employment rights and Housing
Project Delivery
The three FTE CAB Addiction Advice Project workers cover Forth Valley Alcohol Drug Partnership area. One FTE based in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Proximity and access to advice on the frontline is essential and the workers would construct their availability and geographic location to maximise opportunity for Substance recovery staff and clients to engage with the minimum of obstacles.

You should be conversant with all relevant legislation and practice in the fields of Money Advice and Welfare Rights and understand the principles of Financial Capability.

The Depute Chief Officer has day to day operational responsibility for the delivery of the bureau’s advice service. The post holder will ensure a quality service is delivered in line with the Scottish National Standards and the Bureau’s Citizens Advice membership and will provide to the Chief Officer all necessary reporting, data and case study information required. The Deputy Chief Officer is responsible for maintaining a disciplined, professional office working environment and ensures its compliance with the Bureau’s health, safety and other working polices, practices and procedures.
The post holder will also work as part of the Senior Management Team and will deputise for the Chief Officer when required to do so. The post requires a Basic Disclosure certificate.

Start Up Stirling is seeking to appoint an energetic and compassionate person to aid our Communities and Fundraising Manager and expand our fundraising and community engagement.
About Start Up Stirling
Our charity began in 1994 when a group of local churches started to collect donated household goods and redistribute them to people who had been homeless and were moving into social housing. In response to growing local need we started our foodbank service in 2012 in an effort to tackle food insecurity and hunger. In 2017 we introduced an additional pilot service that offers additional tailored support for people experiencing hardship in Stirlingshire.
The whole operation, including our Board of Trustees, is run by volunteers (currently around 110), supported by a small group of paid staff. We work closely with a network of around thirty-five local referral partners, including Citizens Advice Bureau, Women’s Aid, Salvation Army Rural Housing, NHS, Stirling Council and local schools to identify those people that need our support and help.
What are we looking for in a Community Fundraiser?
We are seeking an innovative fundraiser who is creative, driven, and full of energy to share exciting ideas on how Start up Stirling can grow community fundraising throughout the Stirling Council Area.
The new Community Fundraiser will work closely and collaboratively with the team at Start up Stirling to help develop and manage the programme of community fundraising and events. You should be an excellent communicator with the ability to engage with donors and inspire supporters while developing and cultivating relationships. As this is a diverse role, you should be able to manage priorities and work to deadlines while achieving results.
