Funded by KPE4, the Mentor Co-ordinator at Circle’s Haven Project supports children in the Primary ages in the North Edinburgh area.

As part of Circle’s Haven Project, the Mentor Co-ordinator will provide support to mentors and mentees.

For mentees the project provides a consistent 1:1 mentor, one afternoon per week for the entire school year. They will be given support with homework using a positive approach to learning, by responding to individuals’ different needs and abilities.

The project provides a range of fun activities including arts and crafts, cooking and board games; and indoor as well as outdoor physical activities such as football.

For mentors we provide a first-class opportunity for volunteering, which increases their confidence and skills in working with young children while developing their knowledge of children’s development.

Home-Start Glenrothes provides a unique service to families – recruiting and training volunteers to support parents and young children in their own homes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Co-ordinator who can support our Manager to deliver a family support service to vulnerable families in the Glenrothes area. The person we want must be passionate about supporting families in the families’ home providing tailored and non-judgemental support. Our families are supported through a combination of support workers, volunteers and group work.

The ideal candidate will have:

• An understanding of the needs of families with young children

• Experience of supporting families

• Experience of managing and supporting Volunteers

• Networking experience

• A driving licence and use of a car

The Welfare Rights Assistant will be responsible to the Project Manager for supporting the delivery of the Financial Inclusion work within the Glasgow Service for single parent families. The role will include the provision of crisis and welfare rights support, outreach activities and supporting the delivery and co-ordination of welfare rights and money management sessions for single parents.

Families Outside is the only national charity in Scotland that works solely to support families affected by imprisonment. We are dedicated to providing a range of practical, social and emotional support to children, young people and other family members with someone in prison. This support is relationship-based, prison-aware, and family-focused.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Regional Family Support Team to ensure the delivery of high-quality support to people with family members resident in HMP Edinburgh, HMP Glenochil, HMP & YOI Cornton Vale and HMP & YOI Polmont or those living across the East of Scotland who may have family members in prison elsewhere in Scotland. Our Regional Manager will:

· Lead a team of staff and social work students to provide 1:1, family, and/or group work in family homes, community venues, prison, and/or prison visitor centres

· Liaise and contribute to key local and community forums such as Community Planning Partnerships, Third Sector Interface meetings, or Local Authority partners’ meetings

· Create and develop a range of support services to meet the local need across the East of Scotland.

The range of offences and lengths of sentence managed by HMP Edinburgh and HMP Glenochil are extensive, while HMP&YOI Cornton Vale and HMP&YOI Polmont house both young people and women. Additionally the local authority areas across the East of Scotland vary between rural, coastal, and urban areas. This means that the families we support will face a wide range of challenges. It is important that our Regional Family Support Manager is:

· Experienced in leading others

· Passionate about developing high quality family support practice

· Trauma-informed and rights-focused in all they do

· Skilled in building strong, effective relationships with staff, local and regional partners, and stakeholders

· Skilled in creating support to meet the most challenging issues that impact women and young people in prison and their families

· Confident, resilient, and respectful when dealing with challenging situations.
