Want to be a part of seeing lives transformed?
Bethany Christian Trust works in partnership with churches and organisations across Glasgow to deliver work placement opportunities within the Wild Olive Tree Café, Clay Café and The New Charter Café. These placements often coincide with completing a Community Achievement Award in partnership with Glasgow Kelvin College. We are looking for a candidate who will lead and facilitate these existing work placements and as well as developing new opportunities for work placements or work experience.
A significant part of this role will be offering 1-2-1 support to people before, during and after work placements. This will include working with vulnerable adults who require specific working environments, so a person centred approach is needed to assess the suitability of a person and placement match. Continued support for the individual and their line managers during placements and review processes is essential. A key aspect of the role will also be to encourage personal development throughout placements; seeking opportunities to gain new skills, looking at relevant training and qualifications as well as discussing the ‘next steps’ with people towards the end of their work placement.
The successful candidate will work as part of a homelessness prevention team in the West of Scotland. The person will receive support and line management from Bethany’s Homelessness Prevention Manager based in Glasgow.
It is essential that you have experience in facilitating, planning and working with vulnerable people in a community setting. A qualification in Social Work, Social Care, Community Education or related discipline is desirable, or a willingness to work towards such a qualification. Successful candidates with an existing SVQ3 in Social Care or equivalent can expect a starting salary of £24,557(FTE).
As Bethany is a Christian organisation this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010. Please note that one reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require membership of the PVG scheme.
The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland Check.
