Role
Growing2gether is recruiting an experienced, efficient and effective Office Administrator, who is passionate about making a difference to disadvantaged young people. Growing2gether believes in the potential of young people to shape the world around them and achieve transformational change. As the heart of the organisation, this post will facilitate the internal background work and administration to ensure that the facilitators who work with the young people can fulfil their role smoothly.
The Post will involve: To be responsible for the effective administration, co-ordination, implementation of all Growing2gether Programmes, for a number of programmes in Scotland. To establish and maintain good working relationships with the Director, the Management team, Programme Managers and the Facilitators to ensure effective delivery of the programme.
- Sufficient in use of Google email including the Drive, Excel, Work doc and Power Point as such
- Experience in office management and administration
- Computer and IT skills
- The ability to organise, plan and work on multiple tasks
- Driving license and access to own transport
- Project management skills
- Ability to problem solve, work professionally, and to be able to create/maintain good professional relationships with clients and other colleagues
Background
Growing2gether is the only programme in Scotland to pair young people facing disadvantage as mentors to children needing additional support and combine this with classroom training in life skills. This early intervention programme builds well-being, skills and attainment. We tackle the barriers that prevent young people reaching their unique potential, including poor mental health, poverty, challenging behaviour and disengagement from school and society.

About The Children’s Wood
The land between Kelbourne, Sanda and Clouston Streets - G20 8QW became derelict in the 1970s after it ceased to be playing fields for the local Secondary Schools which had closed. Residents fought a long battle to stop developers building on it and to retain it as green space. In 2015 The Children’s Wood was registered as a charity - SC045378. It has been described as a real “secret garden” in the heart of a residential area.
In addition, the charity established a youth- based programme known as G20 Youth Festival led by local young people. With a varied programme at an indoor base, they are encouraged to enjoy being outdoors and cooking for the local community.

Our vision is for a safe place for small children to play and thrive, young people with challenging life experiences to connect positively with their community and local residents to find a green oasis within a busy city.

These are unpaid appointments. However, the return is considerable. You will gain experience in shaping the future of a young charity. You will learn about the considerable support and advice provided by various agencies in Scotland to enable Third Sector organisations to thrive. You will work with like-minded people whose life experiences and values will enrich yours. At present the Board meets 4 times a year but there is a necessity for engagement more frequently. Expenses will be covered but most meetings are on Zoom.

With the development of a new innovative project working with families affected by imprisonment, using their life experience and skills to support other family members who have had a relative in prison, Families Outside is now looking for creative and confident individuals to join us.
Who are we?
Families Outside is the only national charity in Scotland that works solely to support families affected by imprisonment. We are dedicated to providing a range of practical, social and emotional support to children, young people and other family members with someone in prison. This support is relationship-based, prison-aware, and family-focused.
What do we want?
We are now recruiting for the three following posts:
• Support & Participation Coordinator (West) x 28 hours
• Support & Participation Coordinator (East) x 21 hours
• Support & Participation Coordinator (North) x 21 hours
Each Coordinator will be responsible for developing a wide-ranging support and participation programme, working alongside family members with a relative in prison. At a time of growth for our organisation this is an exciting opportunity to work in collaboration with a small team, with responsibility for delivering local, targeted support for wider family participation and engagement. The right candidate(s) will develop, facilitate and evaluate engagement with families, develop resources and materials, and support and manage volunteers.
With experience of working with children, young people and families in the community, the Support & Participation Coordinators will also have experience of planning and delivering group work, as well as the ability to work independently but also committed to working with and supporting others as part of a wider team.

Children 1st has records dating back to 1884 and the Research and Archive Assistant will play a key role in turning this collection into a comprehensive, accessible archive enabling Children 1st to have a detailed understanding of its history, shape future research projects and facilitate access to those records from children and families who were supported historically. We have initially a two year funded position.

The Jane Moore Trust is a Scottish-registered charity, established in 1991, giving children and young people in Scotland the support they need, when they need it. A range of responsive services provide education, employability, social housing, and access to psychological support.

Moore House Academy-Butterstone is located in a beautiful, tranquil, rural environment near Dunkeld in Perthshire. The school provides small group specialist education, including therapeutic support, for children and young people aged 11 to 18 years, whose high levels of anxiety and social communication impede their emotional development and prevent success in learning. Many of the young people have a diagnosis of autism. We envisage opening a primary school on this campus, running alongside the Academy, which will allow us to provide this specialist education to children and young people aged 11 to 19.
We are seeking a skilled and creative part-time Fundraising Officer with at least 2 years’ experience in initiating, growing and developing new streams of income, including grants / trusts, local and national government funds and tenders.
The successful candidate will be part of the The Jane Moore Trust team and have a key role across the organisation to develop and deliver fundraising strategies. This exciting role will support the ongoing expansion of Moore House Academy Butterstone and will ensure that we are able to continue to focus on supporting our children and young people on to positive destinations, accessing the best opportunities for learning, life and work.
