Role
The Community Woodlands Association is looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for community woodlands and with leadership and managerial skills. Knowledge of silviculture practices and management is desirable but not essential.

The Board of Trustees
The Trustees have collective responsibility for oversight and development of the Trust in line with OSCR guidelines, for agreeing the organisation’s strategy, its governance, and work with its professional staff to account for the effective management and delivery of agreed projects on time and within budget.
Skills
Due to Trustees retiring imminently we now have vacancies for 2 trustees. It would benefit the Trust if applicants brought some of the following skills
- Finance
- Charity governance / legal experience
Time Commitment
The full Board meets four times each year. These meetings last 2-3 hours and usually take place in Perth with a remote attendance option.
Between full Board meetings, Sub-Committee meetings are held. Trustees will also be expected to contribute to one or two Sub-Committees. The basic time commitment is likely to average around eight days per year.
Remuneration
Trustees are not remunerated and your contribution will be on a voluntary/pro bono basis.

You will have a background of working with high net-worth clients or donors, along with excellent relationship management skills, and you will be looking to work with an ambitious and growing environmental organisation like Rewilding Britain.
We hope you will share our passion for rewilding and nature-based solutions to the climate and biodiversity crisis. You will be comfortable working autonomously and remotely. You will be part of a small fundraising team, with a strong focus on working closely with the wider staff team to support existing donor relationships and pipeline development.

The Executive Director will be someone who embraces the values and outlook of the Iona Community as a whole, including seeking justice and peace, and caring for the environment. The key objectives of the Executive Director are as follows:
- To work collaboratively with the Leader in developing the strategic vision and direction of the Community’s work and witness. In particular, they will develop and implement its strategic objectives.
- To develop the business potential of the Community and provide strategic planning for its commercial activities; assist the Council of the Community in fulfilling its governance duties; lead, manage and support staff; deliver measurable outcomes.
The successful candidate should have an understanding of and sympathy with the values and outlook of the Iona Community; substantial senior management experience; thorough knowledge and experience of financial direction and planning; and the ability to think and plan strategically.
