Role

YouthLink Scotland is looking to appoint a part-time (21 hrs per week) Development Officer post to support the delivery of our youth volunteering programme of work. This role will have a specific focus on delivering the Youth VIP project in partnership with Young Scot and Project Scotland and also support the implementation of the Volunteering for All Action Plan in relation to young people and the youth work sector

This new post would suit a self-driven, natural collaborator with excellent organisation skills and the ability to deliver a national project involving multiple partners and stakeholders. The candidate will be great at building effective relationships with young people, our YouthLink Scotland member organisations and external stakeholders.

We are seeking someone who has previous experience of delivering youth volunteering programmes and/or youth work. The candidate should have an understanding of the voluntary sector in Scotland and the role that youth work has in supporting young people to volunteer. They should be an excellent communicator, with strong partnership skills and have experience of using creative approaches to demonstrate the impact of projects to a diverse range of audiences.

A Qualification to SCQF LEVEL10 or have relevant skills and experience in a relevant discipline e.g. Social Sciences, Youth Work, Community Learning and Development.

This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2023. The starting salary is £29,561 (pro rata). The company offers a 9.5% non-contributory pension scheme. The post will be 60% home-based and 40% at the YouthLink Scotland offices in Edinburgh with flexible working. The normal working week is 21 hours. By its nature, the post will regularly require work to be undertaken during evenings and weekends. Annual holiday entitlement is 25 days plus 12 public holidays (pro rata).
