Would you like to work with people who have a history of homelessness, to see isolation and loneliness reduced in Edinburgh?
Passing the Baton (PtB) is Bethany’s Befriending Service operating in Edinburgh which aims to reduce the isolation and loneliness that people who have been homeless can experience. Our approach is collaborative and supportive of individuals as they move towards interdependent living within their community. Facilitators befriend and organise befriending relationships for people interested in the service.
The role also involves co-producing and co-facilitating an activity group as well as developing the PtB service and its ongoing establishment within Edinburgh. This involves maximizing relationships with churches, communities, and organisations.
Candidates will require significant experience and a demonstrable passion for working with individuals from a range of backgrounds and a desire to come alongside people to reach their potential.
This position is supported and funded by the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership.
As Bethany is a Christian organisation this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010. Applicants should have and be able to evidence an active Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require an enhanced disclosure and membership of the PVG scheme.
