If the answer to these questions is yes, then you might be interested in becoming a Director of East Ayrshire Women’s Aid.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team delivering vital support to vulnerable women, children and young people in East Ayrshire. You do not need to know everything there is to know about domestic abuse, but we do need to know that you are reliable and committed to our principles and values.

The position is voluntary, but we will provide you with training and support and pay your expenses. We meet at least six times a year, usually on Saturday mornings.

We welcome applications from women from all sections of the community. We particularly want to hear from women with skills and expertise in social media and communications.

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre, Perth & Kinross are recruiting for our first Fundraising Lead. This new role, developed in the context of our recently updated fundraising and sustainability strategy, will strengthen our ability to address the ever-increasing demands on our service, and the challenges of the current funding climate. We are looking for a creative, highly organised and experienced Fundraiser who seeks a new opportunity within a values-led charitable organisation working towards the end of sexual violence.

The role will work in close collaboration with the Centre Manager and will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering on key aspects of P&K RASAC’s fundraising strategy.

The charity already has a strong track record in securing grant funding. This aspect of the charity’s work will largely remain within the remit of the Senior Management. The focus of the new role will be on diversifying the charity’s income streams in the areas of individual giving, corporate donations, and community fundraising in its broadest sense.

The role will initiate and develop relationships and partnerships locally and nationally with donors and prospective supporters, and will actively create new fundraising opportunities and programmes for the charity, all with the aim of ensuring the financial resilience of the organisation to deliver on its mission and charitable objectives.

We’re looking for new people to join the Glendale Women’s Cafe Board of Trustees!

The Glendale Women’s Cafe creates a cohesive neighbourhood in Pollokshields by empowering local women. We offer a safe and welcoming space in which women can come together to learn, create, enjoy and support each other.

In this role, you will help shape the direction and governance of the organisation, supporting the fantastic staff team to deliver a variety of social and well being opportunities for the women of Pollokshields.

Right now is a really exciting time to join Glendale, as we embark on our 3 year strategy for the organisation. In the last 10 years the organisation has grown and developed, and we are now in a position to begin the next phase of our work. To support us in this we have lined up development and strategy sessions with Kinharvie, who will help guide the board into this next phase. Joining the board now means playing a very valuable part in this direction, and will have a meaningful lasting impact on the lives of the women who are part of the cafe community.

Time commitment

Time commitment is a big question for most people when thinking about joining a board. We hope that the time you give to Glendale will be rewarding and beneficial to you, however, we will do our best to make sure the role can work around your life, work and other commitments. Please note we meet six times a year, usually on Tuesdays during cafe hours (9am-3pm).

East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid’s Children and Young People team provide vital support to children dealing with the trauma of domestic abuse and leaving their home. They ensure that children and young people are given a service which is driven by them and meets their needs.

This post provides support to children and young people living in our refuge accommodation and when they move from refuge into more permanent accommodation. You will work closely with partner organisations, promoting the service and raising awareness.

This is a temporary position as a result of maternity leave and is for a period of 9 months with the possibility of an extension. This contract will be for 30 hours per week, although we will consider fewer hours for the right candidate.

Whilst the main office base is in Bishopbriggs, the post holder may be required to travel throughout East Dunbartonshire therefore a degree of flexibility is essential.

Candidates should have an understanding of, and commitment to, the feminist analysis of domestic abuse (or a willingness to learn), experience of interagency working and be willing to work as part of a collective where all staff share management responsibilities.

At least two years’ experience in supporting vulnerable children and young people exposed to trauma is required. Applicants must hold a recognised relevant qualification at a minimum of SVQ Level 3 (alternatively, an equivalent in child care qualifications will be considered).
