When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. That’s because a stroke happens in the brain, the control centre for who we are and what we can do. It happens every five minutes in the UK and changes lives instantly. Recovery is tough, but with the right specialist support and a ton of courage and determination, the brain can adapt.

We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. And it’s a team effort to get there.

We provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives.

This role underpins a partnership with the Scottish Government to help reduce the incidence of stroke, heart disease and diabetes in Scotland. The successful applicant will be employed by the Stroke Association but will work directly with policy teams in the Scottish Government to enhance the strategic approach to preventing cardiovascular

disease (CVD) in Scotland, and in particular to:

· Engage colleagues across government, the NHS, the third sector and academic research to improve detection, diagnosis and management of risk factors including hypertension and atrial fibrillation

· Inform ongoing policy and programmes in relation to stroke prevention and risk reduction

You will have a proven record of developing briefing materials, policy recommendations and reports; and of developing strong working relationships with stakeholders. You will also have an excellent understanding of the political landscape in Scotland, ideally in relation to health services.

This role will be employed by the Stroke Association but will involve working internally within the Scottish Government.

Summary

Working closely with the Head of UK Delivery and colleagues across the four nations, you will put impact and evaluation at the heart of your work, to deliver our service and support activities. Working with funders, commissioners and community partners, this is a key role to support pathways for patients in Scotland.

About the role

You will be the operational lead for Scotland, line-managing a team of Regional Officers in delivering and developing a consistent four nations approach to supporting people with Arthritis and MSK conditions.

Key requirements

• Supporting delivery of our strategy in Scotland, alongside day-to-day team management, representing and championing the breadth of service provision of our cross-organisational working groups.
• You will provide effective operational management to achieve high levels of performance within a framework of continuous improvement, and ensuring services are delivered with excellence through well-trained volunteers.
• Sharing insight and learning across the four nations to align approaches as appropriate and working collaboratively to define and develop support through external partnerships.
• An understanding of the external environment we work with in NHS and local authorities, and an ability to identify opportunities for the charity to support people with MSK conditions including arthritis.
• Identify and maximise funding opportunities, working closely with fundraising colleagues to develop funding and grant submissions and plan for long-term needs and financial resilience at a service level.

This role is very hands on, and you will report directly to the CEO. There is a strong emphasis on digital activity and developing social media engagement.

Core Purpose

To develop and oversee TNT’s Head Office communications to ensure current supporters are informed of our work and to attract potential new supporters. TNT has a broad support base in the UK, Israel and worldwide, and we work alongside two partner organisations in the US to further support our work. We need a Communications and Marketing Manager who will work closely with the CEO to support our external communications across all channels and raise awareness to support our organisational delivery. The postholder will manage the small UK office and review office needs so that the UK office is proficient in the following areas:

Web and Digital – a simplified identity across all digital and social platforms to strengthen the identity and brand of the Trust, with harmonised, consistent messages that are accurate, compelling, and frequently updated.

Supporter Data and CRM –use of available data to identify donors’ preferences, behaviours, and wider networks to achieve maximum lifetime value (LTV). A relational, donor-centred approach is to be embedded.

Print Communications, Appeal Collateral– present a united message regarding the identity and aspirations of TNT, with each area of need having a clear case for support.

Networking and Fundraising Events – planning a programme of events, to extend the outreach and public awareness of TNT.

Are you a dynamic and innovative nurse, who is seeking a new challenge, which will stretch you in a way that few other roles can. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

As a staff nurse in CHAS at home, you will provide holistic palliative care, end of life care and respite care for the child and their whole family primarily in their in own home. You will have the opportunity to use your existing nursing skills and knowledge, complemented by the education, clinical supervision and 1:1 support we provide to develop yourself to deliver an excellent standard of nursing care and support in the community.

You will support the senior staff nurses to deliver the work of the CHAS at home, Kinross team in maintaining excellent standards of nursing care. You will work in partnership with the family, and other CHAS colleagues, as well as our colleagues in the NHS, local authority, other third sector organisations, and volunteers, to put the best interests of the child at the forefront of care.

About You

In order to provide a high standard of nursing care in our hospices, and to help CHAS achieve its objectives, you will have:

• A registered nurse qualification.

• A degree or evidence of equivalent experience.

• Experience of assessing, planning, organising, implementing and evaluating nursing care for children, young people and families.

• Experience of working with whole families to provide education and support in managing a child or young person’s condition.
