Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) was launched in May 2013 from Perth Airport to provide air ambulance
capability in order to complement statutory resources across Scotland, delivering emergency relief of serious
sickness and injury, as well as assisting in the speed of recovery time in critical medical emergencies. In
April 2020, SCAA launched its second air ambulance which is based at Aberdeen Airport. Over the last eight
years, SCAA has responded to over 3,000 callouts from its bases across Scotland. SCAA aim to provide a valued,
sustainable, and leading national air ambulance service that is integral to emergency services in Scotland. On
average, the team responds to two time-critical emergency call outs every single day.
This is an incredibly exciting time to join the team at SCAA. They are growing and looking to increase their presence
across the entirety of Scotland. In addition to this exciting period of growth, SCAA are a national charity and
receive no statutory government funding, so rely 100% on donations from the public to fuel their life-saving
flights. Due to this, SCAA are now looking for three new Community Fundraising Officers to join the team. The
three locations to be covered are:
• Glasgow based (this will also cover Stirling and Falkirk so could be based there)
• Perth, Dundee and Angus
• Argyll and Bute and surrounding areas.
The Community Fundraising Officer will work as part of the growing fundraising team and will work to identify,
develop and analyse opportunities to maximise local fundraising income to meet or exceed income targets. You
will be out and about in the community, working to develop and build relationships. You will work to organise
and deliver successful fundraising events within your area. As a whole, you will work closely with volunteers,
community groups, individuals and schools in order to increase brand awareness, maximise engagement, and overall
drive fundraising in the region.
Whether you are an experienced fundraiser or you are looking to begin your career in the third sector, this role will
be suitable for you. We are ideally looking for someone with a background in fundraising, with a knowledge of
the current fundraising landscape. However, SCAA are willing to provide support, to mentor and grow candidates
who are at the beginning of their career or have the right transferable skills. You may be someone with a
background in sales or income generation with a passion for the sector. You may be someone who has just finished
higher education (or equivalent) and has the drive and passion to succeed.
