Candidates are required to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to provide managerial support, which is often provided from a distance.

Excellent communication skills are essential as the postholder is required to respond effectively to a wide range of enquiries which includes bereaved people. You will be required to establish effective working relationships with a range of Cruse volunteers and staff, as well as statutory funders and grant making trusts. Experience of volunteer management would be advantageous.

Due to the wide geographical spread of the role, the postholder will be required to travel occasionally to each of the service bases within our West Area; and to other locations within Scotland for meetings and training.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trusts, Foundations and Major Giving Fundraising Manager to work towards securing significant income through charitable Grants, Trusts, Foundations, High Net worth individuals and Non-statutory Funding Bodies to fund general and specific projects

You will research and identifying appropriate funders whose criteria match our needs, preparing cases for support and submitting compelling written bids and complex grant applications as appropriate whilst building positive ongoing relationships keeping funders informed of our work to maximize the possibility of repeat grants

If successful you will be responsible or:

• Develop and submit high quality, compelling funding applications to Trusts and Foundations in relation to relevant projects.
• Identify and build relationships with major individual supporters with a focus on securing substantial new donations, and ensuring our pipeline of supporters is healthy.
• Nurture good relationships with existing and prospective donors, and develop stewardship programmes
• To undertake appropriate presentations and activities in relation to our Trusts and Foundations applications
• To liaise with all relevant internal and external bodies including The Lady Haig Poppy Factory and The Royal British Legion, Legion Scotland in order to develop and delivery applications for special projects.
• To represent Poppyscotland in a professional way that ensures appropriate communication with our supporters and stakeholders.
• To ensure grants are received, acknowledged and payment schedules are adhered to in order to ensure an excellent supporter experience at each step of the supporter journey.

To take us onto the delivery, we are now recruiting an Implementation Lead to connect the front-line work of third and public sector partners across Scotland, building on existing connections and enabling effective partnership working to improve outcomes for people who have no recourse to public funds. This is an exciting opportunity to work with and create new partnerships and deliver a lasting impact for people facing destitution. You will be employed by Simon Community Scotland representing the Fair Way Scotland partners and reporting directly to the Fair Way Consortium Management Group that includes Homeless Network Scotland, Refugee Survival Trust, Safe in Scotland, Simon Community Scotland, Scottish Refugee Council and Turning Point Scotland.

Fair Way Scotland is funded by Oak Foundation, The Robertson Trust and the Scottish Government with additional funding from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation for evaluation and learning.
