Role

RAMH FIRST Crisis Service operates in Partnership with Renfrewshire HSCP. FIRST Crisis delivers an immediate, short-term crisis response to people in Renfrewshire who are experiencing a crisis in their mental health. The service is provided predominantly via telephone support, complemented by appointments to RAMH HQ or outreach support as required. We aim to support people to recover from periods of crisis and regain control of their lives. FIRST Crisis strives to do so utilising a strengths based, recovery oriented approach, encouraging individuals who access the service to develop or build on effective self-management strategies.

You will support the Senior Crisis Support workers in the assessment, intervention and resolution of crisis situations. You will be directed by the Senior Workers in follow up support and interventions for individuals, working in a small team. Excellent verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to keep clear and concise electronic and written records of your client contact. Applicants are required to have experience of supporting people in the community who experience mental health problems and we require resilient staff who can problem solve. Experience of mental health work is important. You must be able to follow rigorous procedures and protocols to deliver required outcomes for service users and to reduce risk for service users.

RAMH FIRST Crisis operates 365 days, Mon-Fri 9am-8pm and Sat-Sun 9am-5pm. Evening and weekend work are an essential requirement of this post.
