We are looking for an innovative and passionate individual who can support us in embedding the principles of the Promise within our new Whole Family Project for children, young people and families impacted by substance use across Dundee city. This Project is led by Aberlour, Barnardo’s and Tayside Council on Alcohol in partnership with Dundee City Council Social Work and Education. The Project is funded through Scottish Government National Drugs Mission Fund to improve support and access to services for children, young people and families impacted by drug use.
What we are looking for....
We are looking to recruit a Development and engagement Officer, who will work 22.5 hours per week. These hours will be worked across Monday to Friday with occasional evening work. This contract is offered on a fixed term contract for 1 year. You will be responsible for working with children, young people, parents, carers and other partners to raise awareness around substance use and its impact on the whole-family and to identify local sources of support. You will lead on supporting our Lived-Experience groups to identify what is important to them; consider how support can be made more accessible and identify gaps in provision/service changes. The role is key in supporting our operational and strategic development to embed co-production of current and future services.
Ideally, candidates will have experience of working with individuals and families with complex needs and demonstrate an ability to create rapport and build effective relationships. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of how drug and alcohol use can affect families and the wider community.
