This is an exciting opportunity be part of the Children 1st Edinburgh Family Wellbeing Service. We work alongside children, young people and their families, building strong and trusting relationships to ensure they are safe, secure and achieving at home, in school and included in the community.
As part of our team you will lead the delivery of one to one, group and whole family support – especially with families who have children in lower primary school.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a social work, community work, family support, child/early years or other appropriate qualification. If you have experience of project development and implementation and are passionate about tackling child poverty and maximising the income, wellbeing, attainment and potential of families then we want to hear from you.
As a positive link between Social Work services, educational establishments and children and families in the community, children’s engagement, attainment and wellbeing will be at the heart of everything you do. You will be responsible for delivering responses to a wide range of need including social, emotional and behavioural issues, nursery/school attendance, additional support needs, parental mental health and wellbeing, poor family relationships, poverty and housing issues or social isolation.
We are looking for someone who recognises the importance of the early years and child development with experience of delivering play, attachment and nurture-based approaches. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to use restorative and trauma-informed practice to get alongside children, young people and families and to support team colleagues in developing and delivering such approaches. The successful candidate will be required to work in close partnership with multi-agency partners within GIRFEC Planning processes.
If you have experience of working with children and their families and have a professional qualification in a relevant area such as Social Work, Community Work, Early Years, Child Care/Social Care or related area we want to hear from you.
Hours to be worked flexibly to suit the needs of the service and the school (mornings, evenings and occasional weekends will be required)
