Urban Uprising improves the life chances of disadvantaged young people using rock climbing. Our programmes deliver physical, social and personal development, and gives the young people access to highly trained positive role models through our coaches.

We give young people who wouldn’t normally have the chance an opportunity to experience the transformational personal change that rock climbing can bring.

We work in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Cambridge and Bristol, and partner with local youth organisations to reach young people experiencing disadvantage, often from deprived communities. We also partner with climbing centres who provide instructors and entry at a reduced cost.

As Programme Coordinator, you will work alongside the Programme Manager in developing the charity and managing the delivery of quality climbing programmes for young people. This will be done in partnership with local youth charities and schools, climbing centres and volunteers. You will be skilled in project management and partnership working, have great communication skills and be motivated to help young people reach their full potential.

Energy Saving Trust delivers zero-emission vehicle fleet support via the Welsh Government Energy Service. Funded by and on behalf of the Welsh Government. A fantastic opportunity has become available to join the transport team as a Technical Manager. You’ll work in the fast-moving area of transport decarbonisation and sustainable, zero emission transport, as the UK heads towards its 2050 net zero ambition.

The role

• Contribute towards Energy Saving Trust’s objective of becoming the market leader in the provision of sustainable transport services
• Responsible for the successful management, development, delivery, and reporting of the Energy Service zero-emission transport activity
• Ensure that the Energy Service responds to changing market conditions and maintains a robust pipeline of deliverable fleet transition and EV charging infrastructure projects
• Interpret and present findings in a compelling way, suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences through reports and presentations
• Ensure Energy Saving Trust’s sustainable transport services are delivered to a consistently high quality and are meeting client needs

About you

You are organised and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You have excellent time management skills; you can think and plan strategically and have a solutions-based outlook to work. You are self-motivated and possess a can-do attitude, excellent computer skills (in particular Excel) and a hunger to learn.

Reporting to the Programme Manager - Fleet Support, our successful candidate will be responsible for helping deliver a range of existing and new transport projects for public sector clients.

You will have strong data analysis skills, a sound knowledge of zero-emission transport (possibly from the EV charge point sector) and a firm grasp of the key carbon reduction targets that have been set in the UK. Finally, you will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to form lasting productive relationships with both internal and external colleagues.

This is a permanent position. Our standard weekly hours are 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday. We are open to flexible working patterns. Blended (a mix of home and office-based) working and home-working is possible for this role.

We currently have an opportunity for a driven person to join us as our Delivery Manager for Active Travel. It is an exciting role where you will lead a team to develop and implement projects designed to get more people walking, wheeling and cycling. Active Travel Hubs are where local communities will be able to access led walks and rides, events, information and advice on how to change their behaviour and lead more active lives.

You will lead on Active Travel Projects, working collaboratively with our local authority partners across Ayr and Kilmarnock, in the delivery of the Hubs projects. In addition, you will develop and maintain relationships with Paths for All, South and East Ayrshire councils, Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, local government, and other key Active Travel Delivery Partners to influence and deliver active travel in Scotland.

We offer a truly hybrid model at Sustrans, working flexibly to suit individuals needs. You have the flexibility to work from home a portion of the week but should be based within commutable distance to Glasgow, with weekly travel expected to our new hub in Glasgow (opening July 2022).This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

Using your previous project or event management experience, you will lead, motivate and manage the hubs team who will deliver the projects and events in the local communities.

Successful delivery of behaviour change or community engagement programmes or initiatives is essential for this role, and you will use your knowledge of the issues surrounding walking, wheeling and cycling to advocate for improvements across the region.

You will have the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people from varied backgrounds, allowing you to effectively communicate with colleagues and partners alike.

The Conservation Volunteers – The Community Volunteering Charity

Every day TCV works across the UK to create healthier and happier communities for everyone - communities where our activities have a lasting impact on people’s health, prospects, and outdoor places.

About the role:

The Ladywell and Howden Green Health project will offer volunteers and members of the community opportunities to take part in ‘Green Health’ projects around Howden Walled Garden, Howden Park, and St John’s Hospital in Livingston.

TCV has worked in partnership to secure project funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and will deliver a range of activities that connect people to local greenspaces and help improve our community’s health and wellbeing. Working closely with our partners, the post holder will create an exceptional opportunity for community volunteers and NHS patients to work alongside each other supporting shared outcomes, for participants, local residents, and for the natural environment.

Projects will be delivered in local green spaces and within the grounds of St John’s Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for delivering high quality environmental volunteering activities for members of the community. The role will also include delivery of ‘Green Health’ focused volunteering sessions for patients and service users of St John’s Hospital.

The post holder will work closely with the local community and will be hosted with our partner organisation Ladywell Neighbourhood Network in Livingston. This is a three-year post.

The successful applicant will be able to lead and develop health focused volunteering sessions, be responsible for risk assessing activities and managing resources such as tools and materials.
