Our Telephony Services Team are looking for a Telephone Adviser to:

• To deliver an Information, Advice & Friendship service for older people in Scotland, their carers, families and professionals primarily by telephone, email and letter.
• To act as Champion on agreed subjects.

The post will be a hybrid blend of office based (in Edinburgh) and home-based work. At least 40% of the working week will be based at our office in Causewayside, Edinburgh.

As a Volunteer Coordinator you will perform a vital function in developing and supporting a volunteer team who will be contributing to the heritage project. You will assess service users and support them through the journey with the organisation.

You will work towards developing an excellent working relationship with our volunteers and clients and continuously strive to improve the level of overall event service that the organisation is providing. Connecting people with each other and the right information is mission-critical. Flexibility combined with strong organisational skills and good prioritisation abilities are key to success in this role. Occasional evening and weekend working will be necessary.

Our Information & Project team are looking for a part time Energy Trainer to:

• To develop and deliver online (zoom) and face-to-face energy advice workshops for older people in Scotland and those who support them.
• Workshops will promote awareness of issues including:
  • Facts and myths about energy efficiency
  • The health-related impacts of living in a cold home
  • Specialist support such as the priority services register and warm home discount
  • New developments including smart meters, scams and fire safety and carbon monoxide regulations
  • Energy tariff, shopping around and current schemes to promote energy efficient homes
  • Sustainable living
  • The information and advice available from Age Scotland
• Share the administration and delivery of social security online and face-to-face training.
• Training corporate partners about the issues people face in later life.
• Collect qualitative and quantitative feedback for project evaluation.
• Support the development of Age Scotland’s energy related information resources.

This is a home based role, therefore the successful candidate will be required to have a suitable work space with a good broadband connection. IT equipment will be provided.

• To support the work of the Community Development team, providing high quality information and administration.
• To be a central source of information and support to Age Scotland members, developing good professional relationships with members and ensuring that they are at the heart of Age Scotland’s work.
• To support the administration of Community Development events and the Community Grants Programme.
• To develop, monitor and review systems and procedures to ensure maximum organisational effectiveness.
