GAMH services support people with mental health problems to recover and lead self-determined and purposeful lives. We

Relief Workers are required to provide cover in our Self Directed Support Project. Shifts are planned six weekly in
advance and relief staff will be allocated working hours as per service requirements. Relief Workers will be
supporting people in their own home with aspects of daily living, social and recreational activities, as well as
enabling them to develop meaningful relationships and establish links within the local area.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the values and attitude required to work with people who are living with
mental health problems and who may have complex needs.
Applicants for all posts must be able to work flexibly; some early morning, evening and weekend working may be
required.

These posts are regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups
(Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme
update check. An offer of work with Glasgow Association for Mental Health will be subject to the outcome of this
check being satisfactory.
