Helensburgh & Lomond Carers SCIO is expanding their team and looking for a highly motivated individual, with an understanding of carers’ issues, to fill this vacancy. You will support the development and work of Helensburgh and Lomond Carers, under the direction and supervision of the Manager and the Senior Adult Carers Support Worker. This will include working with carers and their families, Preparing Adult Carers Support Plans, organising, supervising and delivering services for individuals and groups of carers at locations across Helensburgh and Lomond. You should be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and have good interpersonal/listening skills to allow you to communicate effectively.

The successful applicant will require to be registered as a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG).

VOCAL - Voice of Carers Across Lothian - seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Carer Support Practitioner to join its busy and expanding team to provide casework support to carers across Edinburgh. The post holder will support unpaid carers caring for someone living in Edinburgh to plan and access person-centred support for their caring situation, health and wellbeing and personal development.

The postholder will lead an exciting SDS focused project funded by Support in the Right Direction, Inspiring Scotland. They will work collaboratively with staff, relevant organisations and the funder whilst running the project. The project is already well established at VOCAL Edinburgh, and the postholder will be able to draw on the expertise of the practitioner currently leading the project who is moving into another role at VOCAL Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will be employed by VOCAL and based at the Edinburgh Carers’ Hub. VOCAL is a carer-led organisation and provides a wide range of services to support unpaid carers in their caring role. The post-holder will be expected to work as part of a team, improve outcomes for carers and maximise uptake of VOCAL services.

Applicants will evidence excellent people, and communication skills, casework and person-centred support work. Applicants will also demonstrate awareness of the diverse range of caring situations, the impact of caring on peoples’ lives and barriers carers face at different points of the caring journey. Good working knowledge of health and social care will be expected, with preference given to candidates with applied knowledge of self-directed support. Applicants will be digitally competent and effective communicators with individuals, carer groups and partner agencies.

Care for Carers is a voluntary organisation which provides a range of support, information, advice, breaks from caring and residential short break services to unpaid carers in Edinburgh. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and motivated post-holder to join our Short Breaks team who will;

• Promote and develop Care for Carers short breaks services
• Support the expansion and delivery of short break programmes for carers
• Demonstrate an understanding and be responsive to the needs of carers
• Promote and support Care for Carers services as well as supporting planning and reporting processes.

The Coalition of Carers in Scotland (COCIS) is seeking a talented and enthusiastic person to support carer engagement with South Asian carer communities. This will include, supporting and extending our BAME Carers Workers Forum, establishing Carers Voices Networks for carers from South Asian communities, facilitating learning events and building our online networks. This will support carers to feel part of a larger carer network, to have their views and experiences listened to, and to contribute to local and national changes which support their wellbeing

The South Asian Carer Engagement Officer is a specialist role to support the Coalition of Carers in Scotland to deliver a culturally competent service to carers from South Asian communities. This role requires a strong commitment, desire, ability and preferably bilingual skills to reach out to carers from South Asian communities.

In addition, applicants must have demonstrable experience of developing and delivering online, in-person and hybrid engagement and learning events. They must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to network and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. A good understanding of the current health and social care environment will also be beneficial.
