Role

Feniks takes pride in supporting the Polish and Central-Eastern European Community in Scotland. Now, with the Scottish Government Funds, will be striving to improve the representation and access to human rights of its vulnerable clients.

The Feniks Community Research and Engagement Officer will be responsible for:

  • Direct engagement with the CEE community, particularly Polish, to find out the issues currently affecting them, using flexibly qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Using creative means (including social media) to engage with the community to raise awareness of issues and to gather information about their needs and experiences
  • Research and report on the experiences of the Polish/CEE community on all aspects of social life including equalities, access to services, social isolation/exclusion
  • Work closely with the Feniks Policy Development Officer (PDO) to advocate for the needs of Polish/CEE communities at the highest level
  • Work closely with the Polish Social Movement Coordinator to enhance engagement of the Polish community in the creation of ambassadors and advocates for the needs of community members
  • Monitor and report on the deliverables set for the post, as well as contribute to the reports required by the funder.
