Role

Venture Trust works with people experiencing complex life circumstances. Through the provision of outdoor therapy, as well as, wilderness-based personal and social development programmes, we equip them with the confidence, motivation and core life skills that they need to make positive changes in their lives. Our Outdoor Therapy team focuses on the strategic imperative of “health and wellbeing” outlined in Venture Trust’s Strategic Framework.

The Outdoor Therapy Service is offered mostly outdoors in urban greenspaces, and on occasion online. It is initially aimed at clients aged 16-25 years old and ex-service personnel of any age, clients who may benefit from the kind of exploration and reflection gained through individual (and sometimes group) therapy

Successful candidates will be therapists registered with an appropriate professional body who can work thoughtfully and ethically with a client group that can have complex clinical presentations. They will be able to work individually to meet the specific needs of their clients whilst maintaining high professional standards. They will have personal experience of outdoor environments and will have the capacity to articulate the reasoning behind working therapeutically in natural environments. They will be able to work reflectively and effectively within a team and be committed to working towards the aims of the service and the organisation.

Ideal candidates will have experience of facilitating therapeutic groups and reflective spaces and experience of training other professionals, particularly mental health professionals. They will have specific experience of the client groups that Venture Trust engages with, for example, with hard-to-reach young people, homelessness, forensic clients, and have training and experience of working with complex trauma presentations. Ideal candidates will also have qualifications to support working in outdoor environments.

We offer a range of generous benefits including 28 days annual leave and 9 public and bank holiday days, flexible working, and a joint contributory pension scheme.

We also offer a great working culture that embraces our core values of courage, care, curiosity and collaboration in all we do.

Venture Trust is committed to promoting equality and diversity in employment and follows an equal opportunities policy.
