We have a couple of vacancies which will give you a chance to get involved!
Regional Development Officer (North)
The Royal Yachting Association Scotland (RYA Scotland) team is recruiting for a Regional Development Officer for the North. Regional Development Officer (West)
We are also looking to recruit a Regional Development Officer for the West, fixed term until July 2023. This role will continue to support organisations within the West Region, build on current and make new connections, and help to ensure West organisations continue to thrive.
As we continue to move to a more regional approach the RDOs will be responsible for delivering on, along with other team colleagues, a strong and vibrant regional work plan reflecting both the RYA Scotland Strategic Plan and the needs of the local and regional communities.
Therefore, we are looking for two exceptional individuals who are:
• Enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have a track record of working collaboratively within a team.
• Have experience of working with a variety of partners using sport & physical activity to create impact and bring about positive changes for clubs, communities, and people.
• Creative and curious to explore new ideas to be more effective and have a bigger impact on individuals, clubs, centres, and communities.
• Passionate about developing partnerships, people, and places.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks.
The RDO roles will work directly with clubs, centres, organisations, and other local partners, taking the time to understand their challenges and work with them to build creative solutions that address their needs. The roles will continue to connect both the boating and the local community, share information and support affiliated organisations in their plans to develop vibrant, engaging activity that makes a positive impact across Scotland. We seek to grow the opportunities for anyone to access boating and ensure sport is available for life.
For both roles there is considerable travel across the region as well as travel throughout Scotland and occasional travel to wider UK locations. Consequently, a full clean UK driving licence and access to a car are essential as is the availability to work flexibly including regular evenings and weekends throughout the year. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake a PVG check upon offer of the role, as this position involves regular contact with children and/or adults at risk.
