Organisation Profile

Our mission is to create opportunities for social and economic growth, deliver lasting impact and ensure former mining communities are not disadvantaged by the legacy of the past. The Trust has a compelling evidence base that demonstrates former coal mining communities continually lag behind national averages in relation to skills and qualifications and the numbers of people employed. In addition, there are higher numbers of people out of work on benefit and living with life limiting health conditions. Over the last twenty years we have developed a track record in delivering solutions to these challenges and currently focus our interventions on three strategic themes; employment; skills; and health and wellbeing.
