About the team
We’ve been operating face-to face teams across London and Scotland and in-house D2D teams in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Scotland, since 2004. The in-house team’s focus is on getting quality new supporters and, together with F2F & D2D fundraising, we deliver around 85% of Shelter’s new regular giving supporters. This is your chance to be part of our ongoing success.
About the role
The challenge here will be to ensure high quality fundraising and deliver robust people management to our fundraising staff in the Glasgow region. As well as engaging in field work and recruiting and motivating staff, you’ll be responsible for effectively managing standards and performance across the region and seeing that regional plans are delivered and financial and non-financial targets routinely met. Facilitating the first-class management, development and training of the regional team to ensure we retain individuals will be important too, as will producing timely and informative reports when required. And, when it comes to ensuring compliance, liaising with external suppliers and contacts or providing analysis against performance, again, we’ll count on you.

A proactive, enthusiastic and dedicated fundraising manager, you have a proven ability to meet income targets, provide effective leadership and management, set standards, inspire others and ensure effective and transparent structures and processes are adhered to. You also have the communication skills it takes to develop networks and build alliances and work effectively with internal and external partners, service providers and agencies alike. Experience of challenging the status quo to enable progress is essential too, as is sensitivity to others needs and a genuine interest in their views. In short, you have everything it takes to work in the context of a national strategy and implementation plan to achieve the ongoing expansion and performance of an in-house Direct Dialogue operation.
