Role

Tiphereth Camphill in Edinburgh are seeking confident and supportive individuals who will be well suited to working with a young autistic man to ensure he is supported to reach his potential. We are looking for people who work well as part of a small team, working together to provide autism specific support within an individual flat in a community environment. We are adding to our team of energetic, passionate and caring people to provide more support and consistent adaptable support.

We are looking for colleagues who are confident and/or interested in working with different communication tools, behavioural support and consistent approaches to support this man to manage the challenges he can encounter in day-to-day life. This person is seeking co-workers who enjoy being energetic and active and can support him to do the things he enjoys such as walks in the outdoors (all weather!), trampolining, cinema and eating out, whilst supporting him with things he finds challenging, such as managing transitions, communication and managing anxiety.

Collegiate working with your colleagues to problem solve, explore challenges and develop personalised approaches offers an exciting opportunity to grow your own professional practice. The role comprises of both lone working with some 2:1 and transitional support included.

We work within a four-week rolling rota including weekend and evenings, with some variable hours to meet the needs of the person we support. Sleepovers may be required and are paid at the Scottish Living Wage. This is currently £9.50 per hour.

You will be required to join the PVG scheme and register with the SSSC within the first six months of employment. Ideally candidates will have previous work experience in a similar setting and hold a professional qualification at SCQF level 6. For the right candidate we would consider applicants with no previous experience.
