Criminal Justice Team Leader – Better Lives Islington

The Service

This is an exciting opportunity to support to join an established service in Islington. We work in partnership with Camden & Islington Mental Health Trust (C&I) and Humankind to deliver an integrated substance misuse service in Islington.

The post holder will manage the Criminal Justice Team and will be responsible for the further development and delivery of the Better Lives criminal justice offer.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and caring Team Leader who will be responsible for providing day to day operational management of the criminal justice team.

The post holder will be integral to ensuring a high-quality service that promotes recovery and increase opportunities for the Islington population to achieve sustainable recovery and, holistically supporting service users to enter and move through the recovery focused service. You will contribute to the creation of an outcome focussed culture as well as participate in a learning culture for all that consciously celebrates and engages with diversity.

The Role

Key role responsibilities:

  • To ensure staff have the appropriate support (supervision), training and guidance they need to carry out their duties.
  • To support staff team in their case management and provide practical solutions were appropriate
  • Support with the services achievement of performance targets. Contribute to the achievement of overall service and WDP objectives and Key Performance Indicators and contractual obligations are met
  • To work in partnership with hostels, hospital, GP and other service providers to provide seamless and holistic care packages for service users
  • To provide coordination of Criminal Justice practitioners, focusing on engagement, treatment and case management
  • Improve access into treatment
  • Establish satellites in locations such as sexual health clinics, GPs, pharmacies, hostels, day centres, JCP+, Probation in order to engage potential service users
  • Ensure delivery of Drug and Alcohol Arrest Referral from Islington Police Stations, Thames Magistrate Court and Prison Link work


·Salary band of £29,000-£34,000


·37.5 hours per week


The role is based primarily at our Seven Sisters Rd site but flexibility to work across sites will be an expectation.
