The project will build on previous social connections and integration research and link to the Scottish Refugee Council Integration Service. The project outcomes will focus on selecting, training and supporting volunteer peer to increase knowledge of and access to services with the aim to improve refugees’ access to services and knowledge of rights and entitlements.
In this role, you will be a vital member of the team working directly with peer volunteers on a one-to-one to support the delivery of a peer to peer project. You will provide support, information and guidance to peer volunteers to ensure delivery of an effective peer to peer project.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience of working with vulnerable groups and working with people whose first language is not English, as well as having knowledge of the peer to peer methods of learning and development. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with an ability to work in a high-pressure situation in a rapidly changing environment. In addition, you will have to be able to work on your own initiative, have excellent organisational skills and be a confident user of IT systems.
You will be working with peers with lived experience of the asylum system, and working closely with the Housing Development Officer, other colleagues and partners to provide a peer to peer project, which complements our holistic service.
