Role

CHAP are looking for a person who wants to really make a difference.

CHAP, a charitable organisation based in the West Coast of Scotland, are looking for an Advocacy Worker to join our successful team. This is a role where the successful candidate can really make a difference in supporting the vulnerable in our society.

CHAP provides independent advice and information on housing, welfare rights and debt issues, free of any charge, to people in crisis across Ayrshire. We exist to provide hope and to stand alongside our clients as they grapple with some of life’s most difficult challenges. We give those who need our help a voice.

We are currently recruiting an Advocacy Worker to support the delivery of the ‘Better Off North Ayrshire’ programme which is being led by North Ayrshire Council. This new project is a two-year pilot (running to March 2023) which is being delivered through a Public Social Partnership co-production model and aims to deliver advice services through a ‘whole-person’ approach. The Advocacy Worker will be an integral member of the CHAP team and the wider Better off North Ayrshire partnership, providing a service for individuals with complex needs who are engaged with the service and who are impacted by the use of alcohol and/or drugs. Applicants should have lived experience of alcohol and/or drugs issues with an evidenced period of stability in their own recovery. Applicants will be expected to achieve a recognised Advocacy Practice Award but will receive support with this.

A driving licence and access to your own transport is essential.

A competitive remuneration package is offered for this post.
