The Traditional Buildings Health Check is a proactive building maintenance service operated by Stirling City Heritage Trust. We provide advice and inspection services to traditional property owners in Stirling. The service is expanding to provide energy efficiency and retrofit advice to traditional building owners.

As TBHC Retrofit Inspector you will:

• Inspection of traditional buildings (typically those constructed before 1919) to establish the current EPC rating.
• Explore ways to help the building owners to undertake appropriate retrofit measures to improve the EPC rating.
• Writing of detailed reports illustrated with images, for property owners and engage with them to support their better understanding of the energy efficiency measures which could be used in their property, and the appropriate materials and methods to be used.
• Training and personal development will be provided where necessary to fulfil the role.

To meet this role, we are seeking an individual with:

• A track record of inspecting typical traditional Scottish buildings.
• An ability to identify, assess and report on the energy performance of traditional buildings and appropriate retrofit approaches.
• An enthusiasm for tackling climate change and the challenges it presents for owners of traditional buildings.
• An ability to write detailed reports for TBHC members.
• A working knowledge of technology used to assess the energy performance of traditional buildings
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with building owners, stakeholders and contractors.
• Well organised with excellent task/project planning skills and the ability to self-manage a busy workload, with minimal supervision.

Scottish Cot Death Trust is Scotland’s only charity dedicated to the issue of the sudden and unexpected death of babies and young children. Our key strands of work include support for families, a diverse training programme for professionals across a range of sectors, and research into sudden infant death.

To support our work we are looking for a Fundraising and Communications Officer with a strong track record in income generation and effective communications. Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience of community fundraising, corporate fundraising such as ‘charity of the year’ partnerships, and digital appeals. However, we’re open to applications from anyone with different experience but with the transferrable skills, energy and attitude to be an exceptional fundraising and communications colleague.

We’re open to applications on a job share basis for either of the distinct parts of the role, with the fundraising element at 21 hours/wk and the communications (including digital appeals) at 14 hours/wk. About Alternative Routes #Cashback

Our new service, funded by Cash Back for Communities, will work in partnership with Dumfries & Galloway Council and other community partners to provide alternative routes to young people aged 10 to 25 who are involved with or at risk of becoming involved with the criminal justice system. Our service will take a whole system approach and provide support through street work and group sessions within our community hubs in Dumfries, Annan and Stranraer. We will follow a whole family, whole community approach to ensure our young people and have increased opportunities to achieve their goals

What we are looking for....

We are looking to recruit 2 Young People’s Workers to join our new Alternative Routes #Cashback Service who will work 30 hours per week based in either Dumfries or Stranraer. These hours will be worked in line with the needs of the families and young people we will be supporting and will include evenings, weekends and public holidays. These posts are currently funded for 3 years by CashBack for Communities.

We are looking for someone to join our team in who is passionate about supporting children and young people to secure the best possible outcomes as they live and grow within their communities. Our aim is to ensure that children, young people and families are supported to build on their strengths, assets and interests to develop enduring capacity and resilience. You will bring a fresh and collaborative approach and, in discussion with the management team be willing to try new approaches to ensure strong and trusting relationships are developed with families and stakeholders.

You will have relevant experience and a sound knowledge of working with young people and families within communities, including child/adult protection issues as well as having experience of working with children and young people with trauma. You will recognise the diversity of communities, how approaches differ in localities and how we adapt our approach to these changing environments. You will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above.
