The Support Worker will provide a combination of personal care, care at home and housing support to people with dementia in their own homes. The post holder will be part of a dedicated team that will ensure that the highest quality of service is provided.

We are looking for a unique person who can support people with dementia, living within their own home in a Supported Living Service, personalised to the tenants needs.

Our support workers are our most important people as they provide front line support.

Our support workers help tenants to maintain skills and independence by providing support and care with all aspects of daily living.

Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. You will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. A willingness to learn and participate in training is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia is essential

As a Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.

REQUIRED SKILLS

To be successful in this role, you will:

• have attained SVQ level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent
• already be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or meet the registration requirements
• have an understanding of the issues and challenges people with substance misuse experience
• have some experience of working in a health, social care or related setting
• have knowledge and understanding of delivering evidence-based interventions
• have experience of delivering group work, specifically in outreach and community settings
• knowledge of health and safety, including assessing clients in high-risk situations
• have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
• be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
• be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise you work
• have good oral and written communication skills
• be comfortable using IT and digital media
• be organised and able to manage your time effectively
• able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
• be happy to support other With You locations when needed

You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced PVG check.

As part of Epilepsy Scotland’s busy Wellbeing Service for adults, the post-holder will be integral to the support of people with epilepsy’s emotional wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Worker will support people with epilepsy to live life to their fullest potential by providing one to one and group support. They will help participants take an active role in managing their epilepsy and liaise with other external health, social care and community support professionals where appropriate.

We are keen to hear from skilled communicators with experience in an emotional wellbeing support role especially those who have supported people with epilepsy, learning disability, physical disability or other community care needs.

We would particularly welcome applications from those with lived experience of epilepsy and/or the impact a lifelong condition can have on emotional wellbeing.

Role and Service Profile

Time 4 Us works across Forth Valley providing support to children, young people and families who have been impacted by substance use. The service aims to increase parenting capacity and enhance children’s self-esteem, confidence, and resilience, whilst supporting families to make positive choices. Time 4 Us aims to assist families to stay together, where it is in a child or young person’s best interest to do so.

Time 4 Us also offers an Early Intervention Service across Forth Valley responding to low level concerns, which have come to the attention of Police Scotland about children, young people, and families where substance use, mental health and other difficulties have been identified. We understand that from time-to-time family life can have its complications and in these times of crisis we offer early help to address the presenting challenges or problems being experienced.

The Senior Practitioner will oversee both the children, young people, and families Core Service and the Early Intervention Service.
