About the role:
We seek a full time (35 hours per week) Befriending Coordinator to promote and deliver Lead’s Fife Young Carers project and to provide additional support for our adult carers project. This is a befriending service for carers who are socially isolated and who need a break from their caring responsibilities. You will recruit, support, and match a network of volunteer befrienders one to one with young carers. You will also liaise with a range of organisations, particularly Fife Young Carers.
This post is home-based in Fife and involves regulated work for which a satisfactory PVG will be required. Lead Scotland has a Recruiting People with Convictions Policy.
About you:
You must enjoy working with both young people and adults, be enthusiastic, have a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving, have very good digital skills, be an effective networker, self-starter, and team worker. Experience of training volunteers and supporting young people 12 to 18 years of age in the above context would be an advantage.
