The role

This role is based within the Technical Support Team, and you will report to the Technical Support Manager. The team support with the delivery of retrofit projects across Scotland working with local authorities and housing association to improve the housing stock and reduce fuel poverty. This role will play a key role in ensuring that these projects are delivered to contract specification and in line with Scottish Government guidance. You will support with line management duties for a team of Technical Assessors and carry out retrofit assessments on projects when required. Applicable training will be provided if required.

You will be a good communicator, used to working with both internal and external teams and be able to lead and motivate a team. You will be confident in working individually and have strong organisational and time management skills. You will provide a high level of customer service at all times and be comfortable offering energy advice to householders.

The Candidate

Changeworks is looking for an experienced building professional with a detailed knowledge of energy efficiency fabric retrofit measures, including surveying and modelling the impact of those measures.

Training offered (if applicable) – Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) training can be provided to the right candidate.

Changeworks has been leading the way in delivering low-carbon living and tackling fuel poverty for over 35 years and we are offering an exciting opportunity for a Data and GIS Consultant in our busy and growing Consultancy team. We are looking for candidates with a demonstrable track record of managing data-informed projects with a high level of knowledge about data analysis and data management.

Based within our Consultancy Team, the role requires effective working with a diversity of Changeworks projects and external clients. Our busy Consultancy team works across the sustainability agenda and has a particular specialism related to energy efficiency, heat decarbonisation and renewables in the built environment, fuel poverty and pro-environmental behaviour change.

We are looking for a person who will be able to draw on a range of experience to deliver data-informed projects using a variety of tools including GIS software (ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online). You will develop and manage methodologies for the efficient communication of analysis results with outputs like dashboards, infographics and online StoryMaps. You will also be able to help clients manage the necessary data sharing agreements, contracts, and permissions, to ensure a smooth flow and transfer of data between parties. An essential part of the role is to be able to work effectively as part of a team that includes the Senior Data Consultant and our two Data Analysts.

Overall, we are particularly looking for a person who likes being a ‘data and GIS specialist’ in a non-specialist environment, who will enjoy learning more about the energy efficiency and low carbon sector and help Changeworks deliver its ambitious decarbonisation goals.
