About this role
Following the recent retirement of our long standing and much valued HR and Office manager we are excited to be in a
position to now recruit a new dedicated HR manager to our team.
This role will ensure our staff are well supported from a HR perspective, that Children in Scotland complies with all
employment related laws and regulations and demonstrates best practice in this important part of our central
services function.
You will ensure that our HR related practices, policies and procedures are clear, fair and legally compliant, line
managers are supported in their roles and employee wellbeing is at the heart of our organisation’s culture.
As HR manager you will:
- Oversee our recruitment and induction processes
- Further develop our internal learning and development
plan focusing on consistent training across job roles, staff development and retention
- Contribute to
work on the rollout of our staff wellbeing plan, ensuring staff are supported in their roles and their workload
is appropriate and manageable
- Ensure our employee benefits package is the best we can
offer
- Further embed the use of competencies in our recruitment and performance management
approaches
- Oversee our annual having your say people survey, using the results to develop an action plan
for the following year
- Ensure good support to hybrid working

with the children of Scotland and those who work with and support them. Your work will contribute to our
organisations continued journey towards long term sustainability and achieving our net zero ambitions.

*Location:Children in Scotland is Edinburgh based but, until further notice, this role will be
remote/home-based, with some travel required for in person meetings, and with the option of use of office space
in Edinburgh and/or Glasgow.
