Carr Gomm is looking for a Fundraising and Communications Officer who can articulate the impact of Carr Gomm’s work and play a key role in fundraising to help us achieve even more. Your work will help bring people together, strengthen communities and transform lives.
In this strategically important role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop our 25th Birthday Celebrations fundraising plan, build engagement with existing and new supporters, and have the space to be creative with our events and community fundraising, utilising multiple social media platforms. You will be an excellent relationship builder, comfortable with targets, and confident managing multiple projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or entry-level professional, who would value the opportunity to develop their skills and bring fresh perspective and ideas to our team. Essential skills and experience
- Qualified to degree level or have demonstrative experience of teamwork, analysis and working to time scales.
- Experience of working in a fundraising or communications role in either voluntary or paid capacity.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Positive attitude and a friendly, approachable manner with a desire to grow connections.
- Willingness to carry out any other ad hoc duties as required.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience of event management
- Proven experience of growing fundraised income.
- Donorfy or similar CRM experience
- Knowledge of third sector and social care sector
- Knowledge of GDPR and fundraising compliance.

Carr Gomm is a leading social care and community development charity; we provide person-centred services across Scotland to enable people to live their best possible life. As part of our strategic plan, we are aiming to develop accessible online counselling and psychological well-being approaches. We are therefore looking for a fully trained and accredited counselling practitioner to develop a digital Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) with identified partners, and also to explore Carr Gomm creating affordable counselling and mental health opportunities for individuals who currently experience barriers to accessing these.

We are looking for a Shop Manager who is passionate about charity retail and helping a good cause.
We have 5 shops in Edinburgh, 1 in Gullane and a new one in Glasgow to support the vital services we provide. All our services focus on relieving the immediate suffering and meeting the long terms needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland. We don’t just work with homeless people. We stop people becoming homeless in the first place. When you join Bethany you are supporting projects such as the Welcome Centre, Care Van, Family Support work, Housing Support, etc.
As a Shop Manager you will join a fantastic team of staff and volunteers.
You will provide excellent customer service in a professional charity retail environment. You will also identify and encourage the potential of staff in order to maximise their contribution to the success of the shop. Other responsibilities include to actively seek donations to maintain required stock levels with strong pricing, stock rotation and proactive selling.
This position will require the Manager to grow and develop the business in line with strategies agreed with the Head of Group Income Generation.
Team Lead – Individual Giving Fundraiser

Are you a proactive and creative fundraiser with a passion for social justice and delivering innovative fundraising campaigns?
Role
As an experienced, proactive and creative fundraiser, you will deliver Bethany’s individual giving strategy, including campaign production, acquiring and retaining donors, stewarding major gifts and legacies, and developing philanthropic partnerships. As a team lead you will provide guidance and inspire your team of individual giving fundraisers through mentoring and celebrating successes.
You will be part of the multi-disciplinary fundraising team, supporting other areas including events and digital. Living our values, you will work with colleagues across the charity on fundraising appeals, donor acquisition and stewardship, so that, together, we can end homelessness in Scotland one person at a time.
Hybrid blend of office (Leith, Edinburgh) and home working.

Role
Based in Edinburgh, Bethany Logistics provides essential logistical support across many of our services by uplifting and delivering furniture and home goods.
We need of a Van Porter to assist our drivers with the collection and delivery furniture. It is desirable but not essential for applicants to have a driving license & a highly practical hands-on approach for this physically demanding job. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.
