Established in 1999, The Pavillion (Greater Easterhouse) is a community youth organisation that provides a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for young people from primary 1 upwards, with most activities having historically focused on children and young people aged up to 18 but now with an increasing focus on whole family, whole community activities. Everything that we do aims to inspire our participants, raise their aspirations, help them to address the challenges that they face and encourage their development as young people.

The core of Pavillion’s service offer is a drop-in service for Mini’s, Junior’s, and Senior’s. While attending these sessions, young people take part in a wide range of engaging and developmental activities including issue-based workshops, sports, team building, games, STEM activities, art, music, and IT related activities. Specific additional projects are then developed around this core. For example, our peer wellbeing programme for young people allows young people to discuss their mental health and wellbeing and to support each other through a network of peers.

We also place a strong focus on attainment, helping young people to demonstrate what their development, through Youth Achievement / Dynamic Youth Awards, Community Achievement Awards, Saltire Awards and Youth Access units at Kelvin College.

Purpose of Job

The Business Development Manager in partnership with the community and staff will be responsible for developing and leading the business development strategy for the organisation.

The Pavillion needs a long-term plan. We have a small facility and a large catchment and an ever-increasing waiting list of families who need access to the service. We need to look at options for premises going forward. New build? Development on the current site or is it taking over an unused building in the community?

We also need to develop new income streams which lessen our need for grant funding.

We think this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the correct skills and enthusiasm to make a real difference in a community despite having to deal with enormous issues, still has the drive and determination to succeed as individuals and a community. LANDED Peer Education Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with excellent communication skills to join our existing team. The post holder will be responsible for delivering and developing a range of awareness-raising inputs that aim to increase knowledge and understanding of risk-taking behaviours, including drug, alcohol, tobacco, vaping and sexual health issues among young people and staff who work directly with young people.

LANDED is a Lanarkshire-based charity that raises awareness of youth health issues to encourage young people to take responsibility for their own health and well-being. There are four distinct strands to our work: Supporting young people to become efficient peer educators, raising awareness of health issues among young people attending groups in the community, increasing the knowledge, understanding and capacity of staff members through staff training delivery, and resource development – developing resources to support workshop and training delivery.

Sunrise Partnership offers a free, confidential service in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire for children and young people up to age 18 who have been affected by loss and bereavement.

We are looking for an area manager to continue to develop and deliver Sunrise Partnership’s presence across North and Central Aberdeenshire, along with the other part time Area Manager. You will require a relevant professional qualification (eg social work, teaching, nursing, psychology) along with the appropriate skills and experience to work directly with bereaved children and young people. This will include one-to-one and group sessions. Excellent inter-personal and leadership skills are essential, as are a dynamic and self-motivated outlook.

This is a part time role (17.5 hours per week).

Venture Scotland offers an outdoor-based personal development programme which empowers young people aged 16-30, who face complex and difficult challenges in their lives and want help to change.

We focus on the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of our Young People, working with them to make lasting changes to their lives and helping them play a positive role in their communities.

We are seeking an Outreach and Support Worker, who identifies with our values of Trust, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Environment and Personal Development, to recruit and support a diverse range of young people into and through our programmes and on to positive destinations following graduation.

The job will also include building a network of local referrers, public speaking to interested groups, staff teams and funders, presenting our programmes in engaging and creative ways to young people interested in joining our programmes and supporting them on their journey with Venture Scotland and beyond.
