Job Purpose

SBRCC recognises that currently survivors accessing our services are not representative of the diverse society in which we live, for the reason we are committed to increasing our engagement and participation within diverse intersectional communities. This post will specifically focus and bring expertise and knowledge to further our intersectional approach. The role aims to increase our reach and engage survivors specifically within rural and remote communities, LGBT+, BME, children & young people, disability, older women and survivors with learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

• Work to build relationships and connections to raise awareness and promotion of SBRCC’s services, with people within diverse intersectional communities.
• Work with organisations, services and groups to develop relationships and connections to develop tools, resources and pathways to encourage engagement.
• Increase support capacity focusing on inclusion, access and innovation to increase the reach of our service within diverse intersectional communities.
• To recognise, respect and address the needs of survivors who face particular barriers when seeking to access our SBRCC’s services.
• To provide emotional and practical centre and outreach support in various venues across the Scottish Borders. The Sunrise service provides support to self-identifying female survivors 18+ who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives.
• Manage a small caseload and provide direct and in-direct support, information and advocacy specifically supporting survivors from diverse communities and to those who have complex needs.
• Providing individual needs-led information, support and advocacy (including sign-posting and referral to other services/agencies) for survivors who disclose their past or current experiences of sexual violence.
• Promote and involve survivors in the planning, delivery and evaluation of service provision.

To provide support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area. The posts are based in our office in central Cumbernauld and the postholders will deliver support in local schools and in the community.

17.5 hours a week, mornings 9 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Monday – Friday

Evenings and weekends as required to provide on-call support to women in our refuge accommodation. An additional payment is made for this.

About North Lanarkshire Women’s Aid

NLWA is a feminist organisation working for women, children and young people who are or have experienced domestic abuse. We provide information, support, and safe, confidential accommodation to women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. The nature of our work requires a commitment to the values and ethos of Women's Aid.

The successful applicants will undertake the initial assessment of children and young people referred to our service and implement and monitor appropriate support plans liaising closely with other members of the NLWA team, school staff and other professionals as required.

The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in childcare or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification at their own expense and in their own time. They will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as flexible hours to suit the needs of families.They will also have a passion for improving the lives of families who have experienced abuse.

Membership of the PVG Scheme for both Vulnerable Adults and Children is a requirement for this post.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking for a Business Administrator to provide administrative support for the organisation.

Candidates should have good communication and IT skills, be willing to work as part of a team and be flexible in their approach.

The successful applicant will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in business administration or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.

Satisfactory completion of a basic disclosure is a requirement of this post.

East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid’s Children and Young People team provide vital support to children dealing with the trauma of domestic abuse and leaving their home. They ensure that children and young people are given a service which is driven by them and meets their needs.

This post provides support to children and young people living in our refuge accommodation and when they move from refuge into more permanent accommodation. You will work closely with partner organisations, promoting the service and raising awareness.

This is a temporary position as a result of maternity leave and is for a period of 9 months with the possibility of an extension. This contract will be for 35 hours per week, although we will consider fewer hours for the right candidate.

Whilst the main office base is in Bishopbriggs, the post holder may be required to travel throughout East Dunbartonshire therefore a degree of flexibility is essential.

Candidates should have an understanding of, and commitment to, the feminist analysis of domestic abuse (or a willingness to learn), experience of interagency working and be willing to work as part of a collective where all staff share management responsibilities.

At least two years’ experience in supporting vulnerable children and young people exposed to trauma is required. Applicants must hold a recognised relevant qualification at a minimum of SVQ Level 3 (alternatively, an equivalent in child care qualifications will be considered).

Posts are subject to a successful PVG scheme check, suitable references and completion of a satisfactory 6-month induction period.
