Angus Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people. Over the last year we’ve worked with approximately 3500 clients on a variety of different advice topics. We are a friendly and welcoming team made up of around 16 paid staff and around 35 volunteers that offer generalist advice to clients alongside more specific projects. Angus CAB was formed in 1985 and we are keen to ensure we remain here in Angus providing people with high quality advice for many, many years to come.

That’s where this role comes in! We are looking for a highly motivated Fundraising Officer to join our team to focus on funding applications to ensure our resourcing meets the demands that are placed upon us. This is a sole fundraising role, so the successful applicant should be comfortable working alone, although they will have the ongoing support of the Chief Officer and any other relevant members of the team to provide information and context to support applications and bid-writing. In return for your expertise we are happy to be flexible around the days worked and where you base yourself, and you will join a team of very hard working people who are all passionate about achieving great outcomes for our Angus clients.

The Citizens Advice network in Scotland is the largest independent advice service in the country. Citizens Advice Scotland is a charity within this network – we act as a national organisation supporting and representing the service as a whole and the interests of citizens. At the heart of the network there are 59 individual citizens advice bureau organisations across Scotland, all operating as independent charities in their own right, and generally focusing on providing support directly to clients. As a Caseworker within the Extra Help Unit, you will carry out an important role by investigating and resolving energy complaints on behalf of vulnerable consumers. You will ensure that the consumer’s personal circumstances and any detriment caused by supplier failures are fully considered when negotiating an outcome. You will deal with a range of callers who are often upset, angry or stressed about their situation. Callers may also be experiencing financial difficulties, or have mental or physical health conditions. You will be expected to support consumers in a respectful, inclusive and non-judgemental manner.

The Caseworker role is both challenging and rewarding, with the majority of complaints and circumstances being complex in nature. You will get to work within a great team, and within a constantly changing energy market with the opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives.

The Supported Housing Worker role requires assisting in the management of the development thus ensuring the tenants are able to enjoy an acceptable standard of living in an environment which is clean, safe and friendly. You will be responsible for overseeing the wellbeing of the tenants and for assisting them in maintaining their independence.

As Housing Care Worker your role will involve working with our tenants to ensure they receive the support and personal care identified in their care plans. You will directly support tenants in their homes by providing individual advice, practical housing support assistance and personal care.

Both roles are to ensure that we are able to offer the best service to our tenants and make it possible for our tenants to continue enjoying as much independent living as they’re able.
