Canongate Youth’s mission is to provide high quality youth work services that support children and young people to flourish. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting children and young people we are seeking to recruit for a Deputy Manager.
The post holder will work alongside the Manager on the strategic development and functions of the organisation. They will play a lead role in the development of Canongate Youth’s services, in line with the organisation’s charitable purpose, mission and values. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced individual who can contribute to the management of the organisation, ensuring it continues to provide high quality services for children and young people.
The post is subject to the receipt of two suitable references and membership of the PVG Scheme.

Youth Work & Community Development Manager

The Youth Work & Community Development role is to grow, develop and manage Kilmarnock YMCA’s portfolio of projects and services including child and youth work activities, volunteering, a ‘Drop In’ for older people, community garden and community café.
This role requires a dynamic, proactive self-starter who can manage a number of projects simultaneously and deliver on the strategic plan, bringing about the aspirations of the Board of Trustees, its dedicated team of volunteers and service users.
Venture Scotland offers an outdoor-based personal development programme which empowers young people aged 16-30, who face complex and difficult challenges in their lives and want help to change.
We focus on the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of our Young People, working with them to make lasting changes to their lives and helping them play a positive role in their communities.
We are seeking an Outreach and Support Worker, who identifies with our values of Trust, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Environment and Personal Development, to recruit and support a diverse range of young people into and through our programmes and on to positive destinations following graduation.
The job will also include building a network of local referrers, public speaking to interested groups, staff teams and funders, presenting our programmes in engaging and creative ways to young people interested in joining our programmes and supporting them on their journey with Venture Scotland and beyond.

Art Therapist (Young People) - 14 hours a week

- The administrative base is in Dalkeith. Travel throughout East Lothian, including operating from other venues, will be required.

Role
Midlothian Young Peoples Advice Service (MYPAS) promotes the health and wellbeing of young people across Midlothian and East Lothian and currently focuses on working in the areas of mental health, substance use and LGBT+ support. MYPAS is a community-based organisation with charitable status and based in Dalkeith, Midlothian.
We are looking for a dynamic and flexible Art Therapist to provide Art Therapy to young people aged 12-18 in East Lothian in both individual and groupwork settings.
The postholder will also develop and promote further therapeutic work both within and outwith MYPAS.
Qualified to Diploma level (or equivalent) in an art therapeutic discipline, a member of BAAT and have experience of working with young people, you will also be committed to delivering a service according to best practice and within community settings.
The postholder will work within a multi-disciplinary service and work effectively with other agencies in partnership settings. Contributing to the wider MYPAS service, the postholder will ensure that young people are worked with using a holistic approach through effectively linking the work of the Therapies team with other areas of MYPAS’ work as well as that of partner organisations.
The post may involve evening working – to be negotiated depending on client needs.
