The East Renfrewshire Family Wellbeing Service offers support to help improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people aged 8-18, and their families.

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the team. In the Project Worker role you will connect with children and their families who are looking for help and support; offering them space and time to begin to share their story and thinking with them about what they might need to help things feel better.

We offer a range of different supports for children and families, including individual and family support; facilitated and peer led group supports and befriending relationships. This is an exciting yet demanding role which will require you to get alongside children and their families where, when and how best suits them. We want to be able to offer children and families the right support at the right time.

Base

You will be based in our Giffnock office, with some flexibility to work at home when this suits the needs of families and/or the service.

Salary, Conditions, Pension

We will offer you a competitive salary, generous annual leave entitlement (40 days inclusive of 9 public holidays, pro rata), flexible working opportunities and a contributory pension scheme.

Hours

This is a fixed term, full time post of 35 hours per week to cover a period of maternity leave until 31 January 2024. Hours to be worked flexibly across the week to meet the needs of families and the service. However, Wednesdays are our ‘core day’ when essential service activities take place such as team meetings.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced person to join a vibrant Scottish Charity working to promote parent child relationships from generation to generation. This post is being funded by the Scottish Government until 31st March 2025.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about interpreting data, bringing it alive, making it understandable. You will have a good understanding of research and evaluation within applied social settings. You'll be able to show how our programmes make a difference in infant, child, perinatal, maternal and paternal mental health, and parent child interaction. You will have a great understanding and working knowledge of Qualtrics and Excel, and be an enthusiastic team player.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Regional Family Support Team to ensure the delivery of high-quality support to people with family members resident in HMP Barlinnie, HMP Shotts, HMP Low Moss and HMP Kilmarnock, HMP Dumfries, HMP Greenock, HMP Addiewell or those living across the West of Scotland who may have family members in prison elsewhere in Scotland.

The Role

Our Regional Manager will:

• Lead a team of staff and social work students to provide 1:1, family work in family homes, community venues, prison, and/or prison visitor centres

• Liaise and contribute to key local and community forums such as Community Planning Partnerships, Third Sector Interface meetings, or Local Authority partners’ meetings

• Create and develop a range of support services to meet the local need across the East of Scotland.

• Experienced in leading others

• Passionate about developing high quality family support practice

• Trauma-informed and rights-focused in all they do

• Skilled in building strong, effective relationships with staff, local and regional partners, and stakeholders

• Skilled in creating support to meet the most challenging issues that impact families affected by imprisonment

• Confident, resilient, and respectful when dealing with challenging situations.
