You’ll be joining Changeworks at a very exciting time as we’ve recently launched a new strategy to help us scale our work and achieve our mission of decarbonising Scottish homes. As the Energy Consultant (Retrofit) you will have to make a telling contribution to decarbonisation strategies for registered social landlords. This will make a telling contribution to decarbonising Scotland’s social housing at scale.

You will support and develop our Net-Zero Pathways service through retrofit assessment and modelling that focuses on whole house retrofit solutions. You will have a solid understanding of domestic building health, domestic building fabric, energy efficiency interventions and domestic low-carbon heating, as well as ventilation. You will also be able to engage with different audiences and be capable of writing reports for social landlords. Experience in using Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP) modelling would be advantageous, however we will provide full training to the right candidate.

Beith Trust is a North Ayrshire based charity working to improve the social, economic and environmental condition of Beith, Barrmill and the surrounding countryside for residents, visitors and nature alike. You will be responsible for improving systems, efficiency and the ‘bandwidth’ of the project as well as developing external links partnerships.

As part of a city-wide strategy, the service will promote the wellbeing of children and young people and to support them to stay at home and thrive with their families within their local communities by offering the right support at the right time.

Job Description

Our shared vision is to support children and young people to live with their parents and brothers and sisters, or where this is in the best interest of children, with their extended family, enabling them to grow up in their community with their friends, and attend their local school. The Family Support Practitioner will be part of a multi-disciplinary team with families to support and enable positive change and to improve outcomes. You'll join a team with an opportunity to work supporting and empowering families to achieve positive outcomes.

An assessment of need will be undertaken to identify needs, strengths and challenges that each family faces, the interventions will be based on expressed family needs and goals and will include advice, guidance, parenting support, 1:1 work with children and liaising with partner agencies. The post holder will carry out assessments, planned support and reviews and support families to overcome barriers. Working as part of a team, you will attend meetings and work alongside partner agencies, advocating on behalf of children and families.

Person Specification

• SVQ 3 in social care or HNC equivalent.
• Post qualification experience of working with children, young people and families and achieving positive outcomes through direct contribution with support activities and intervention.
• Outreach/lone working experience.
• Experience of working with vulnerable families and a broad understanding of their barriers.
• Knowledge and experience of implementing methods of assessment and interventions.
• Understanding of safeguarding.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing and through presentations.
• Experience of developing multidisciplinary support plans.
• Organised and systematic approach to monitoring and reporting
• Ability to work with people at all levels internally and externally
• The drive and initiative to work independently
• Ability to share learning and develop practice through feedback

• Driving License (Maximum 6 penalty points)

The Post holder is responsible for developing and managing the our Community Transport Fleet, and transport staff team and is responsible for securing section 19 contracts

The overarching aim of the GDT Association is to improve the health, function and quality of life for young people/adults across North lanarkshire. Utilising a variety of forms of social encouragement GDT engages with local people to take up services to improve their health and wellbeing

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Care Manager you will:

• develop and manage the day to day Community Transport service
• identify and organise appropriate training for volunteers & staff
• recruit, support and manage volunteer’s
• research and secure appropriate grant funding
• ensure GDT Transport services operates efficiently and with a Low carbon footprint
• keep GDT Transport services abreast of eco policies and practices ensuring the fleet is reducing carbon emissions safely and efficiently through eco driving
• ensure maintenance and schedule checks in line with regulations.
• liaise with and encourage work with other relevant bodies appropriate to the post
• market and promote the the service Work directly with colleagues across the entire service ensuring full access to transport services.
• ensure all health and safety aspects are complied with
• keep records, monitor and evaluate the programme in line with the requirements of the principal funders and GDT
• carry out any other duties appropriate to the post
