Community Fundraiser, Aberdeen and Northeast Scotland

Works with:Chief Executive, Campaign Director, fundraising team, communications team, operations, finance, fundraising groups, supporters and donors

Purpose of role: To contribute to the effective delivery of the fundraising and communications strategy for KidsOR through community fundraising in Aberdeen and the Northeast.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Work with Campaign Director and wider team to generate income in line with the fundraising strategy
  • Proactively devise an annual tactical fundraising plan, with associated KPIs, specifically targeting community fundraising within Aberdeen and Northeast Scotland.
  • Plan and deliver effective, exciting and appropriate fundraising activities
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of appeal campaigns


  • Deliver a range of fundraising activities across the region
  • Foster new relationships and maintain existing relationships with community fundraisers (individual and corporate) to encourage regular/long-term giving
  • Support fundraising groups through generating publicity, supporting local events, inspiring people with ideas and maximising their efforts
  • Develop materials such as fundraising packs to support activities
  • Contact and visit local businesses and groups to promote ways to support KidsOR
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity in the region and build awareness of the benefits of fundraising for KidsOR and the people we help
  • Liaise with communications team to manage external requests for publicity for fundraising events and activities that
  • are being undertaken on behalf of KidsOR
  • Support national fundraising and other national initiatives, in conjunction with the Fundraising Team
  • Establish good processes and measures to ensure that our activities deliver against objectives and conform to the highest standards of regulations and procedures
  • Ensure health and safety of participants and volunteers at KidsOR fundraising events and activities
  • Support the comms team by capturing content for KidsOR communications channels

Data reporting and administration

  • Record data accurately using Raiser’s Edge database
  • Produce reports, proposal and supply data as required
  • Monitor, evaluate and identify learning points from each area of activity
  • Experience of setting, managing and delivering against budgets, reporting on KPIs, variances and reforecasting
