We are a food policy and practice organisations, looking to strengthen and diversify our board.

What will you be doing?

Nourish Scotland is currently seeking individuals to join our Board of Trustees.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to diversify our board by recruiting people with different experiences who share our values and passion for improving the food system. We have identified a gap our board for a Trustee with HR skills or experience. As an organisation we champion decentralised ways of working and distributed leadership. We would love to hear from a Trustee who values and is interested these approaches. We particularly welcome applications from people who are typically underrepresented on charity boards. Training and support is available for anyone who doesn’t have previous board experience.

What are we looking for?

We would love to hear from potential Trustees who share our values: equality, fairness, integrity, participation, empathy, courage, generosity. Formal HR qualification or CIPD membership is welcome, but not essential.

What difference will you make?

As a Trustee you will provide strategic oversight, direction and guidance to the organisation – and in particular the Director - and will work collaboratively with other Board Members and the staff team to help us achieve our vision. We would also welcome your input on HR matters on ad-hoc basis, as the need arises.

The Board meets once every three months on Zoom, on a weekday evening. You will need to read through board papers in the week before the meeting. You might also be asked for your input in between meetings. The time commitment is an average of 2h per month.
