This Youth Work Development Officer post is central in facilitating and developing Participation and Belonging activities for Care Experienced children and young people in our North East region. The post is imperative in creating safe and inclusive environments for Care Experienced children and young people, where their voices, views and experiences are heard by senior leaders, helping to bring about positive change.

The successful candidate will be able to show that they have experience in building trusting and compassionate relationships with young people and be confident in working in partnership with a variety of Corporate Parents at all levels. The post holder will require excellent youth work and/or community engagement skills to create new opportunities and develop on existing ones with Local Authority, organisational partners, and other public services. This collaborative working helps build on the aspirations of The Promise and secure positive change. The post holder will also support a wide range of PR awareness-raising events and other activities on both one-off and longer-term projects.

The post holder will have a positive solution focussed attitude, be adaptable to change, and have an approach which is both inclusive and steadfast. The successful candidate will be passionate about helping young people create positive change, and will keep up to date with current national environment regarding care experience.
