Role
Sacro is a Scottish community justice organisation which works to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities. Sacro provides a wide range of direct, innovative services in Community Justice, Public Protection and Care and Housing. All our services are designed to help build safe communities by reducing conflict and offending.
We have a new strategy that is focused on our service users and on building our contribution to changing lives and keeping communities safe. We mean business when it comes to influencing outcomes for our service users and this newly created role of Head of Policy and Engagement will be pivotal in ensuring that the voice of people with lived experience drives both policy change and the development and design of our services.
Leading the development and delivery of a sustained, effective programme of policy and engagement activity, you will adopt a proactive approach to horizon scanning across relevant political and external environments whilst also building and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders from senior politicians to people on the front line of services. Ensuring Sacro’s views on key debates are heard, our new Head of Policy and Engagement will also be focused on improving both public and stakeholder understanding of Sacro’s mission, purpose and value while acting as a strong voice for our service users and ensuring their voices are heard more directly.
Bringing relevant policy, influencing or external engagement experience, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in raising an organisation’s public profile, and evidence of building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders from senior politicians to people on the front line of service. As an accomplished communicator, you will have instant credibility when engaging with both internal and external stakeholders and be able to demonstrate the ability to build authentic and empowering relationships with service users, based on partnership working and co-production.

What Is the Role?
As a member of the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) and reporting into the Director of Development and External Affairs, you will be leading a programme to deliver evidence and insight across Victim Support Scotland.
The primary purpose of this post is a leadership role responsible for the development and use of data, research, and insight at Victim Support Scotland.
You will lead in designing, commissioning, management, and dissemination of all the research as well as analysing findings to present them appropriately and effectively, including for our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Board.
You will champion the role of an effective data service in delivering our strategic outcomes. Working across the organisation, you will promote an evidence-based culture across Victim Support Scotland.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
You will possess excellent quantitative and/or qualitative research skills, with a keen eye for detail, meticulousness, and accuracy.
While demonstrating outstanding organisational and planning abilities, including proficiency in program, resource, and performance management. Exhibiting excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, along with a track record of effective external relationship management.
Proficient in presenting information visually to non-experts. Capable of designing, developing, and utilizing appropriate methods and tools to support high-quality research. Strong people management skills, including the ability to develop and motivate colleagues.

Sacro’s mission is to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities.
We are looking for qualified counsellors with 2 years’ post-qualifying experience, who have delivered counselling to individuals affected by domestic abuse. You must have experience of cross-cultural counselling, and a gendered understanding of domestic abuse and Honour-Based Violence (HBV). You will need to be an effective communicator in English as well as in another language prevalent in Scotland’s Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, highly organised and have effective casework management skills.
You will be responsible for delivering short-term counselling and psychotherapy interventions to BAME women affected by domestic abuse and HBV and for escalating any concerns around clients’ safety and well-being and child protection concerns, in accordance counselling/psychotherapy ethical codes, Scottish legislation and relevant Sacro policies.
Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement this post, as well as membership in a recognised regulatory body (COSCA, BACP, UKCP, etc.).
You must have accreditation, be working towards accreditation or be eligible to work towards accreditation and hold your own indemnity insurance.

What Is the Role?
As a member of the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) and reporting directly to the Director of Service Delivery, you will be responsible for ensuring, within your area of responsibility, that VSS’s strategic objectives are being met, You will have a key role in developing future strategies and initiatives, primarily but not limited to volunteering, that ensure that people affected by crime are supported when, where and how they choose, regardless of where in Scotland they live.
You will have responsibility for all aspects of planning in your area, including staff and volunteers and ensuring that they are skilled, confident, and capable and have everything they need to enable them to effectively support people affected by crime.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
We are looking for someone that has strong leadership experience within a charity or volunteering involvement organisation.
You will possess proven project management skills and excel in both written and presentation abilities. You will have experience of internal and external relationship-building crucial for organisational goals.

Sacro provides Restorative Justice and one to one Cognitive Behavioural Change Programmes to assist young people between the ages of 12 – 21 years who have either been charged with an offence or have been identified as being involved in negative or anti-social behaviour in the community. Those who have been harmed by this behaviour are also offered a service in every case where possible and appropriate.
You will be responsible for working directly with service users as part of an existing Youth Justice team. You should have experience of working with young people who offend and have some knowledge of Cognitive Behaviour Interventions, Restorative Justice and Anti-Social Behaviour Legislation.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work both as part of a team and independently is required, experience of interagency working would also be an advantage. A commitment to Sacro’s value base is essential, as this type of work can be challenging.
